I remember that storm.  That was my oldest first Christmas.

Here too alot of snow - high drifts and our street not plowed yet.  And we have been out shoveling and snow blowing ours adn neighbors.  Even dug out two cars.  I am tired. and sore.  Not going back out unless neighbors need an hand.

When my sailor was at GL - it snowed alot and he volunteered to shovel.  He loves being out in it this stuff.

Sharing some pictures  Stay safe and warm.

I live in Northern Illinois and we got about 17 inches.  Our driveway had 3-4 foot drifts.  My husband was one of the crazies who went to work this morning but he has a big Ford four-wheel drive pickup so he didn't have a problem.  Our side roads hadn't been plowed yet when he left for work.  I went out to take pictures this morning and jumped off our back step and landed in snow up to my hip.  I'm not sure if any of you remember the blizzard of 1979 but we had two storms back to back with this much snow and we had four feet of snow in our backyard as high as our fence.

I feel so blessed.  I had 2-3 feet of snow in my drive this morning.  A neighbor came with a big snow blower and cleared my drive and then he would not take any money for it just some gas for his blower.  He said "this is what neighbors do".  God bless him.

Doesn't happen often but they are planning on shutting down Great Lakes on Wednesday.  No visitors allowed on base.  No triaining.  Hubby was told to take his computer home with him Tuesday & work from home Wednesday.

Wind is getting stronger adn stronger.  Jsut blowing everthing.  The snow coming down is still dry, but now startign to stick.  Hubby's gut told him to come home early from work  Schools and business are closing too.

Not sure of how much will get - weather man keeps changing his predictions.

Super Kelly.  I may even have a youth church group coming over from there.  Let me see what she says--they have to see if they can make it a youth ministry project.
