Linda--the good thing about fast attacks is they usually have shorter times out at sea.  I hope that holds true.

Welcome to ZIGGLO19.  Now, is your sailor in boot camp or is he in A school at Great Lakes?  Keep in touch.  We've all got a shoulder to lean upon.

Mary--how close to St L?  I'm in Troy.  where do you meet with the Blue Star Moms?

Dodie--hope your son does better than ours did at home.  He was meticulous about his uniform--but everything else was in a pile on the floor when he was home--lol!

Carol, we'll have to get together soon. My nuke flew in today for holiday leave. He will be classing up w/A School as an EM after the holidays. Funny thing I noticed...he never really cared how he dressed/looked before leaving for boot camp in Oct. Tonight he was constantly brushing lint off of his dress blues and adjusting his uniform/kerchief...lol. Now for the real test...I'll have to wait & see if he makes his bed:)

Welcome to Lexsmom(ship 09 Div 067)  :)  glad to have you with us!

Thanks Pat & T-Lynne--the hubby asked me today if I wanted to go with him to pick up his sister or have some "me" time.  He sent me off to Kohl's all by myself to find a new sweater for my birthday!  Wow.  It was great.  (And, 2 gals at Kohl's saw my Pampered Chef tote and asked for catalogues!)

Carol :

You have the right and sometimes the NEED to whine.  And maybe it isn't whining - maybe we all should think of it as an Release Value. Some inner feelings getting out before one accidently has an emotional explosiopn.  Agree with Pat - we listen.  Isn't that what we need too.  Just someone to hear.  Besides we all have Super Glue to put the ears back on :)  Havea good day
