Thank you Pat L in IL and Karen C.! I'm sure that I will have all kinds of questions as my son's journey in the Navy progresses!

I got a big surprise yesterday! My son, who's been out to sea for a couple of months, on the USS Tenn, is back! The phone rang, and when I looked at the caller ID, I was so happy and excited. He's back in VA now, having driven from Kings Bay, GA. And to make things even more exciting, he told me he's been promoted to E-5. WOWZERS! It seems like 2 days ago he was leaving for boot camp and yesterday he was graduating Nuke school. Time sure does go by fast.

My son is officially in Boot Camp! We attended his final swearing in ceremony at Cellular Field in Chicago last night! What a great night! I posted pics on my page if you'd like to view them...providing they have passed approval, that is! We also received his call late last night, informing us that he made it to GL okay. All is good! : ) We are so proud of him!

Had my sailor home with me for Memorial Day. He and his dad made the long trip back from Charleston with all of his stuff. We walked in the parade with his grandpa, a WWII army vet as part of the honorflight group...very special!

Hi and welcome new moms :)
Take a box of tissues with you for the swearing in - those pocket things are not enough.

Have to share something funny.
I was having computer problems. And as I was reading another site - my screen went dark and then the fan stopped working on the computer. Then it just died al together. I thought for sure - Trojan or being hi jacked again. Hubby was home and I went running to him and telling him my sad story of a dead computer. SO he stops what he is fixing and comes in to help me. He starts checking the connections - all wires are attached. Then he checks below or under the desk. There he finds the problem - somehow I had unplugged the major cord from the wall socket. Oh the look I got fro him. Not to mention my own conscience laughing at me. Hope I made you laugh.
Now I am off to do the dishes - hope I can do that !
Havea a good evening
