Hi all--the news below is so great to hear. I am asking for prayers for one of our friends and his family. Mark was injured while on MODOT job on Oct. 28th. He has now been taken off life support. Please uphold his wife Chris and their daughter Michelle as we await his peaceful passing. Thank you

And snacks from home too. My sailor is asking for Swiss Colony. Can't get that in Japan.

Great news Karen! Good luck to the happy couple. Got my son's address today. Wow only three days after he reported. Now I can send him news and encouragement!

Hi and welcome :)
About this weather - I think it is just acting up to keep us all on our toes. So far no after quakes have happened or if they did - I miss it too.
Thanks - I'm happy to have my Mom back too.
Hey the Olympics start today. Planning to watch some events - at least the opening is fun to watch. And have to start my crank duty now . All havea great day :) TLynn

A wedding - congrats to the young couple and to you to Karen.
Gee - in April - wow you must be a bee hive of activity around your place.

had good news today too:
1. Mom had her bloodtest and weigh in today - blood level perfect - just where they need to be and she gained 5 pounds !!!!!! Her atitude - so much better . Now she is acting like Mom. She wants to eat - she want to to visit and have visitors - she talks on the phone - alot! And doesn't argue about her meds !!!
2. Oldest son joined that Match.com. Well he met a very nice young lady. And - oh - have they hit it off! They really are good for each other!!! Gee- some things on TV are for real.
3. Sailor called not over 2 hours ago. He was on the dock - standing next to his ship. He had time to call and catch up on things. Like that he and several other mates had tailored suits made with matching tailored made shirts with French cuffs. These sailors plan to purchase new ties - shoes and cuff links when they get to another port - OK - they have the suits - I want pictures. Then he got to ride a 40 year old elephant. He said it was fun and the elephant was very sweet. I'm surpirsed he didin't try to take her home!
4. No - didn't feel that earthquake at all. I was sound asleep. But Mom felt it! She said she knew it was one and that it sounded like a big boom. She was afraid that the big Sunstrands plan behind us - explored. ( it did that once - had green fire coming out of one of the roofs) this explains why my pet turtle wanted to hid under her blankets the last few days. If that turtle could have dug through the floor - she would have. She ok now :)
Well, time to go and fix the left overs. I like left over days.
Take care all - hugs TLynn

Hi ... Ombudsman was very helpful with phone contacts. We finally heard from my son - he's "very sorry for being so stupid & he's handling it." How mature :) Hopefully he'll be more mature about drinking :) - I pray it will all work out okay, that he won't get kicked out of the Navy.

We are in Bartlett. We did not feel a thing. Slept right through. I was surprised how many people from all over felt something.

Thanks Karen for the suggestion. I have sent Hoppi aka Angie a friend invite.

Hello everyone! We are driving my son to St. Louis tomorrow (in all this snow and ice) and he leaves for GL on Thursday, Feb. 11th. Along with the snow falling all night, he's been vomiting from the flu all night. He's lost 4 pounds in one day (and I'm sure I've gained at least that much). Don't thing I'm really ready for this!!

Since he has no phone with him I can not contact him. His recruiter told him he has no idea what happens. It has never happened before. It is hard being so far away!!
