Time to start gathering for our Illinois Family love project. Address to be posted next week, but want to get this out so you can start your cards and boxes, especially for our meet and greet Oct. 17th. However, ALL are invited to join in.

Molly's special hugs are headed for a medical clinic in Kuwait! This is kind of like a MASH unit. Guys and gals pass through this clinic for medical care! So our mission this month is two fold- take care of the wonderful staff that puts themselves on the line every day and send some mom love to those wounded warriors coming through the clinic on their way to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our contact, a Navy nurse says "We get along well in our unit for being strangers to each other, but that is the beauty of being in the military you adapt and overcome. We do that together. We are here to help out the Army medically and we are getting used to their differences. I am glad I was chosen to come here, but I look forward to going home as well. I have 3 boys at home, ages 13, 3, and 1. They are being taken care of by my husband and mother. You can't imagine how much I miss and need them."

So our mission
For the staff- A unit of 25 men and women, some single, some married with children. The women have requested tampons, pads, liners, body sprays, lotions and powders, and finger nail polish (no bright colors). The men have received some packages but would like deodorants and foot powders and such. They do have microwaves so think of fun snacks! They have also requested individual drink mixes! These wonderful caretakers share what they have with those passing through so lets shower them with love!

For the patients- what is better than a note from someone who cares? When you are hurt and far from home a few kind words mean so very much! So lets stock this clinic with cards and letter that they can hand to those brave injured warriors! Along with those wonderful notes, let's send trial size lotions, eye drops, toothpaste and toothbrushes and more! The wounded warriors passing through can pick up what they need and slip it into their pocket with that

precious note from home!

We want to ship our packages from October 24th to October 30th!

It's time that the major media keeps their word. Those sailors died becasue of their desire to keep us safe. I hope we will know their names soon - saying their names keep them dear to ones heart and their good deeds alive. Will light a candles to honor them and a prayer that the Guardian Angles surround their family and friends with loving arms. Thank you Jeannie for sharing. TLynn

Heather, You used to be able to delete from your friends page. Now you have to go to the friends page and delete is an option on the left side below their name. I need to do some "pruning" myself but I hate to do it but there are people who just leave. Can't imagine anyone wanting to leave us, can you Heather???HEEHEE!!!

Heather--if their site is no longer active, maybe it just shows on your page? If you need to, ask Ning.

While I hate to miss the M&G, I am excited--got our tickets for the Navy Ball in Davenport. Our son is coming home and wearing his dinner dress blues--first time I've seen him in those.
