I was born in Eldorado. Parents moved to Rockford when I was 18 months. So family in the South call me the Yankee. I say yes - the side that won. Family reunions are fun :) Have a good restful sleep. TLynn

Hey Jeannie - remember to breath. So glad all is coming together for the wedding. If I can get a wedding card off - may I send it to your home address for the bride and groom? I used only cloth diapers and did all the washing and hung them out to dry. In teh 70's is when they came out for those paper diapers and my sons broke out in rashes. Anna - Mt. Vernon, IL - the first city sellected to be the State Capital and near Benton, IL where the last state hanging took place - right? The person that was hung was Charlie Burger - right? If I am correct about your location - have you heard of town called Eldorado? Waiting to hear :) TLynn

This Navy for Moms .com is only one year and 5 months old. My mother shares about her brothers in WWII and not hearing from one for 2 years. She agrees with you - this is a blessing. Proundmom - we all go through "sailor withdrawl" - I bake cookies or go hug my sailor's panda bear. Anna - 9 weeks old. You do have both hands full! But oh - you must get the most wonderful smiles from them. Ladies - may your sleep be restful - your dreams so sweet - and dawn's light greet you with song :) TLynn

You will have your hands full!
But I hope every moment - is joyful. Isn't it nice to have helpful hubbies? Mine was good to me to today. Wait a minute - are they being nice or did we just do a good job training them? Are you smiling? Good :) Take care and keep shaing TLynn

Welocme Anna,
This is IL N4Ms. Showing my age! I am only 54 that means 5 + 4 = 9. ( years old I remember my Grandmother and she heated up the water on the wood burning stove - take out her home made soap and the scrub board and start washing. Now about those washers with the rollers - yes remember them well too. I was very young and my older sister was suppose to watching sweet little adorable me that NEVER got into trouble. ( ok I hear the giggleing starting)
She was busy with a friendchating and I started playing with those rollers - somehow I ended up with my arm getting caught inbetween the roller and by the time my sister got to me - it was up to my shoulder. Nothing broken - just a lot of crying and "How did you do that?" Oh - my sister didn't get into trouble - she bribed me. But Carol - your idea of how the name came about sounds logical. Have a great evening all. Hey Anna - start sharing! TLynn

Could crank duty come from the fact that the old time washers had to be crakned and you then put your wet clothes thru the wringer (rollers actually) to help get some of the water out? I actually grew up with one of these washers for rags and towels, etc. Also, as a child, used a "Mangler" ironing machine--can you believe it? Would probably be child abuse now--lol !

PS My crank duty is done for the morning - enjoying my second cup of coffee!

Good Morning!
I asked on teheJapan Moms and Dad site - if any knew how the term "crank duty" came about. SO far - no one knows. But I forgot to add that crank duty also includes the laundry! Everyone have a good day :) TLynn
