Kimmy, Since Jeff left for the Navy, we are empty nesters. Hubby is now developing his culinary skills. Oh yeah, did I mention that "Marie Callender" is my new BFF???

WOOHOO! That first letter is such a joy! Now just try not to stalk your letter carrier like I did. He thought it was pretty funny though!

T-Lynn, Thanks for the laugh! Crank Duty, huh? Well, I am easing out of it, that's for sure!!

Hi Snoosy and Welocme aboard.
My favorite Navy term is crank duty. It means doing kitchen detail. When a sailor gets on a ship - he/she will have 90 days of continous crank duty. My sailor complained, then I reminded him - I have been on Crank Duty for over 40 years and still going! Have a good day and share about anything - we love to listen :) TLynn

Jeannie--it's too hot to bake. I decided to let Sam's do it for me for our reception for the newlyweds here with us now.
Be sure and add the EVENT to the events page for the rsvps. It's easy to do, and since you have the information, it would be better to leave you as the contact person.
THANKS!!!!!

Me too.
He once told me in all most stuffed a shipmate at A School in his locker. When that sailor misbehaved - the Petty Officer would send Alex to take of him. So Alex told him to straighten up or he would stuff him. I don't think there are lockers on a ship! But my guy usually has a cool head. He stated that day had been out of the ordinary and ALL of them were having a time. Sharing - on the Japan Moms and Dad site - Carol shared how she has dealt with AT+T and was able to get a refund or charges canceled. Hoping that Anita ( Mom with son who has tehe $2600 bill) will at least try and see if she can help her son with that bill! If she does - just think how we can get that word out to other sailors! Keep you posted. Oh - I had sailor withdrawl today - so I baked chocolate chip cookies. It's a beaturiful night - everyone - the sweetest of dreams. TLynn

Good Morning all :),
Need to share this and it is IMPORTANT !!!
Another Navy Mom form the Japan Moms site, shared about a bad experience her sailor is going through. He purchased one of those ipod cell phones so he could listen to music on his tours. He LEFT ON the international roaming and when he got back to base - he had a bill for $2600.00. He went to Legal and could receive no help. SO he had to take out a loan at 16% to pay it off. If your sailors have that ipod with internaitonal roam - remind them to turn it off when not using it for an international phone calls. Pass this along please. Last night I had a wonderful time - my sailor called :). He finally had his computer back and could use skype and talk and talk and talk ... And he did! He sharead about a situation on ship. That ship is having another inspections - now I think it is the 4th one. He stated all of the crew is on 14 to 16 hour days. And one day was just bad. Everyone was so frustrated and he said he just lost it. So he had a mini tantrum. He was so upset with his project not coming together - he wanted to throw something. He realized he had a very expensive tool in his hand, but couldn't throw that - so he reached in his pocket and grabbed the first thing - turned out is was his cell phone - and Yes - you are thinking right - he threw it. As it hit the water - he realized what he did. I was in stitiches with laughing. I got control of myself and told him how sorry I was for him and then asked if King Neptune had called yet? And I did ask him if there are any newspaper articles of a Japaneese fisher man gutting a fish he caught and finding a cell phone to send it my way. SO he had to go by a new cell phone - that ipod thing! Yes - I emailed him first about the roaming. Will talk later - have to check on the Monarch caterpillars hatching.. Have a good day TLynn
