Good Mroning,
No, Jeannie - I am not the lady who was creating the meet and greet. I had looked on the discussion site about it, but never heard any updates or that it was confrimed. I only shared ideas - possible places to meet. I am the one who wanted to meet for lunch and just get to meet and gossip. Please do not get me wrong, I like to dight see - but for this first meeting - I wanted all the time to talk and SEE other Navy Moms. I have not received any updates about the meet. Have no idea if it is the 18th or the 25th. Jeannie if you want to meet up - maybe we can. I just have to make sure I have someone with my mother. She is getting better, but still needs someone here. Tomorrow she starts her her 2 hour session with the physical therpaists! Oh - Karen - so glad you had a great visit with your sailor! talk later ladies T-Lynn

Hi Kim Welocme!
Congrats to your son and when you see him - get all the hugs you have missed! Oh - take plenty of kleenx and get ready to cheer for your son and his division! I know Jeannie that my story about Shark must sound like I am totally making this up, but I promise - it is true. Shark's favortie dog food flavor is now Bacon & Eggs & Chicken mix and the other is Turkey & Bacon. She loves to watch John Wayne pictures - espeically the fight scenes. And I forgot to mention she even dresses up for Halloween. You guess it- we made a huge shark fin for her. I am hoping to have the courage to create a wonderful home page and have pictures. I will place Shark in the group. The reason I did not create a nice home page - fear of deleting. I do that so well. So I have to get the guts to work on it. Have a great night everyone. And keep sharing gossip about your sailors T-Lynn

Yes, every morning and a snack at bedtime! Shark is going to be 25 years old. She is an Eastern Box Turtle. And she has us trianed very well! She was first owned by college kids in Florida. They found her in the wild and did not feed her the correct foods of worms - bugs, etc. She was fed Mighty Dog dog food and fresh fruits. When another college kid moved in with a cat - the cat thought Shark was a toy - so they got rid of Shark. She was dropped off to us in 1998 and we have had her ever since. Yes, she still eats dog food - can't break that and she doesn't know she is a turtle. The Vet told us she can never be returned to the wild - because she lacks the knowledge to care for herself. Our sons said that she would miss the TV and vidoe games too. So Shark has her own area in the living room, with ablitiy to see the TV. She has many stautes of turtles - given to her by our friends, see Santa every year, receives postcards now from Japan, etc. She is spoiled and we are trained! She even helps send special things to her sailor - her favorite thing to send him - scratch off lotto tickets. She could live to be 75 years old. ALready asked the boys who is going to get her in the will. By the way, how is the weather for all of you? It is very cool here - like I need to get out my fall clothing. Have a nice evening. T-Lynn

Good Morning
I haven't had coffee yet - so brain is working slow. If I remember - ALex was at GL for several classes - I think it lasted nearly 8 weeks. Then off to Ingelside, TX for the A School of MN. But now I think that A School for MN is in SD, CA. That lasted 3 months. THen he was assigned his ship. He was giving leave for nearly 30 days and then off to Sesabo Japan to be with his ship. Now, the Navy paid for his travels to all his military destination, but not for peraonl leave - like coming home. Hope I got this right. Sorry to rush off - I have to feed the turtle. I'll chat with you later have a good day T-Lynn

God Bless America Lyrics
by Irving Berlin

God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above;

From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.

Hi,
JoAnn your last statement sounds correct. That Cody is on hold. My sailor was told he was on hold and then suddenly it changed. That is why I will say: Navy Time means Maybe Time. Be ready for qucik changes or long waits. Have a good fourth everyone. T;Lynn

Good Mroning ladies
I just read the following messages. Oh it help to make my day that you two have reached out to each other and CAN help your sailors. My son for the longest time just couldn't understand why I love this Navy for Moms - until he meet a new ship mate andhis mom and I had just made contact. He said - he understands now that it is a emotionsl aupport. I agreed and said: "yes, and another wya for us moms to keep an eye on your all." Nancy can your son's shipmate meet Cody and be a guide ? Please keep sharing about your sailors flights and esecially that they arrive safe. Have a great day . T'Lynn
