OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It's snowing in the Quad-Cities now. Stay safe and warm!

My son arrived home Friday morning from almost a year in Afghanistan! Concerning his journey home, I can say GOD BLESS THE USO at O'Hare Airport. United scheduled his flights from Norfolk with 45 minutes between his flights. He landed 25 minutes late, had to go to a completely different terminal, and they refused to hold the plane, put him on another airline, give him meal vouchers or a hotel room. He found the USO that gave him a couch to sleep on and at least treated him kindly. Friday morning he finally made it to Moline. The weather is ugly, so maybe I can keep him one more day before he drives back to Norfolk!

Alright Ginger! Another one home for the holidays. Does it not put a new spin on what is important?
Troy still has it's one and only grocery store and yes it is the Super Valu.
My sailor is also bored on T-track. But, I think he is keeping busy.

7 degrees! Oh, I hate that. BRRRRR is right. I can't take that, but I hate the hot too, and I'm in humid hot land. (not now, but April through October)

Rebecca, Your best bet for a restaurant is Chinese. Movies and Chinese restaurants are big here on Christmas. (so many ethnic groups that do not celebrate Christmas) Pat
