Sharri, Reid was on a sub (in Hawai'i) for several months and really didn't like it; was transferred to a similar rate topside. He loved Hawai'i of course! He's been lucky and blessed that he was on a great new ship (USS Stockdale) did the sail around from Bath, ME to San Diego and served till Sept. 12 on it. Wonderful experience. Then tapped for language school. He'll grad in Oct. and we're going out for the 5 minute ceremony! You have my email address. Send me a private message with your email. c
What a precious baby! Beautiful picture.
Good Morning Reid's Ma! Things are well in Evansville. Ben's date got changed to October 8, so I still have 102 days with him (not that I am counting - ha). He had originally asked to be changed from a sub to a ship if possible. Later he decided he wanted to stay on a sub and asked for his request to be rescinded. They said the did that, but somewhere along the line it went through anyway and he got changed to a ship with a date change to October 8. He isn't exactly happy about it, but says that at least he is still in the Navy and that is what counts. He had already given notice and quit his job, so now he is REALLY bored. It is going to be a long summer for him but no one wants to hire him for just three months. It is really going to be bad after all of his friends leave for college in August.
Sweet photo!
Sharri, Hi again. Ginger's sor/sister here. How are you doing with son leaving for BC? This is the hard part. Believe me, it will be easier as the time goes on. Esp. the next phase--A School. What week are you in? When is PIR? That is a awesome proud moment in his life!! Take family or a friend. Blessings, C
I'm in Orleans....about 6 miles north of Paoli.
Where do you live in Southern Indiana? I am in Evansville.
I live in southern Indiana and my son left Wednesday for Boot Camp.
sharri just say I got this from a group back home cant read them all you want a few
Shari Contact deb At operationcarepackages.org give her his address they will send wonderful cards from kids, letters of encouragment and a few needed things. Tell him pass on to friends with no family or if he notices there not getting mail wouldnt hurt to send a few generic letters for him to give them. Alsays Shari with one I.
Yes its very important, lots of letters , Both by boys were at the top of there bootcamp graduates, Both came up the ranks. They said the things I taught them at home gave them the advantage. The words reminding them they have had harder lifes then bootcamp and its there chance to make life easier.
I will say after basics its important they learn to save and live on need not want or they will fall short on cash before pay day comes. MY boys had there accounts but had money sent to accounts back home so they just wouldnt spend it. Both boys have great credit. Brad owns 2 homes and they have things they want because the remember the need and want list and the wants can it wait till you have it. Stay away from credit cards to many fall into that problem. Ya there going to go out with friends but my boys found balance and made time to take online classes and graduated while in service allowing them to become officers its balance that the key. I hope some of this helps.
