I would check out the Master of Arms group found on the 'Groups' tab just under the banner at the top of this page. While you are there...check to see if there are any groups for special ops.
I would definately ask what the options are for your son based on his ASVAB scores, then do some research on each of the options and try to find the best fit!

Looks like Navy Dad has more up-to-date information. My best to you and your soon to be sailor!

I recommend that you discover how many divisions are graduating that week. The more divisions the fewer seats will be available. My son was out of boot camp fall of 2007, so things may have changed, but we didn't have 'tickets' just names on a list. We actually had five people with only four names on the list and it wasn't an issue, but we were prepared for one of us to not get to go in.
Have you been on any of the many boot camp pages on this website? Especially the one with his PIR date? Jon may be your best source for information, because he will know whether there are any, few, or many recruits from his division without family attending.
If the PR site says don't ask...I definately wouldn't ask! You don't want to draw unwanted attention to your recruit.
Remember that extra seat or seats that you take are taking away from another family. One from our group waited to sit with us until almost start time, to make sure that all families in the division had seats, if none were available we would have split the group and sat in the balcony.
