Of course we will, Heather. We've all been there... encouraging someone with the hardships of basic training. The most important things are to keep writing and telling him he CAN do it; that you know it's hard, but he has it in him. I bet basic is worse on those who are married and with families. Put all your frustrations here and only be upbeat for Kevin. Hugs! k.

BTW, dinners for the Westies have been posted on the Events Calendar. The next one is on December 14, which is 2nd Monday (the week after that is during school break). We'll meet at On The Border (dave's fell through).

The dinner after that is on Jan. 18 back at Olive Garden. Then, Feb 15 at Red Lobster again. Details and maps are available via the Events Calendar. ALL ARE WELCOMED! k.

Thanks, Dawn, for missing me. I was doing the "corporate wife" thing at a business dinner... believe me, I'd have much preferred to be with ya'll! Gee, that's a bummer that Zack won't be home for the holiday. Were you able to send him something for his birthday? I know he's disappointed too. Maybe he'll have a friend nearby where he can spend the day and get dinner. I can offer you some advice on that, if you need it... had to do that for son last year.

Looking forward to seeing you in December... Hugs! k.

Now 08, I hope you understand that if there's any way for you to bring that sailor to Indy while he's home, you must do so!!! It's not fair to have a sailor in your house unless you share him with everybody ;-)

Donnita, that goes for you too... of course, it's easier for you to get your guy to Avon! And BTW, that poor sailor, Andrew, doesn't know what he's in for. I gave his address to my mother... she may be shipping cakes and home-cooked meals over there! Hugs, k.

Here's my Sailor at his reenlistment! He added another 5 years... in until he's 29. He got a big signing bonus, which he wants to save for while he goes to college. But, while I'm really proud of him, I'm a little sad too... that life will be "Navy first" for 8 more years from now. Hugs all, k.

Tina, ya'll should have come straight to the NM dinner tonight! I'm always happy to get together with ya... let me know when. We might scare up another or two! Also, I've got to warn you about "The BOX." When the box arrives from Great Lakes, you DON'T have to deal with it. Have someone else open it, stick it in a closet, or have hubby take it to a friend's house. But be prepared, because it's a gut-wrencher... it's like receiving the ghost of the child you said goodbye to.

Granted, you'll next see a young sailor in his place... and you'll be so proud that you'll almost burst. But the box is a toughie. Hugs, k.
