OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Notice to INDIANA MOMS group members: the "Stacy Williams" who posted below is NOT a Navy for Moms member. This was a spamming incident. He/she must have created an ID, joined groups, posted the message re: the shirt, then deleted their ID.

As group administrator, I'm reporting the incident to Admin, but I don't think we'll more of this. Thanks for your impartial participation here! Hugs, Kaye S.

The big day is Nov 5... unless I take a turn for the worse; then he'll do it on Oct 29. But I DON'T want to do this while son is here.

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes... ya'll are the best, k.

Did ya'll know that Applebee's is giving free meals to current and former military personnel on Veteran's Day?! Here's the link: http://www.applebees.com/vetsDay/default.aspx.

And by the way, my trip to Washington was cancelled this past Monday, when I had a severe 'incident' with my female organs (NO cancer) and my doctor said I'm having a hysterectomy. We're grateful that son's command changed and extended his leave, so he's flying home tomorrow for a week.

But, I'm still upset that I'm not meeting many of those I've gotten close to in the past year. Hugs, k.

Wonder if the dress blue uniform was navy blue velvet also? Or if the standard dress of the period was navy blue velvet.

Thanks Jim! I would assume by the written comment with the tiara, that this particular one was probably for a higher ranking female. Maybe the lower ranking tiara's with less on them were more attractive...But I doubt it. Navy blue velvet, interesting material choice.

Yeah... probably a man who's had a giant mug of beer! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks for the good morning laugh, Kaye! not sure I would wear scrambled eggs either.

I agree... it's sort of doofy looking! But, I guess that if you've qualified to wear scrambled eggs, you welcome the opportunity to show them off. :-D
