Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Maggie, I hope you know that the Longhorn in me sure hates liking that Aggie of yours so much! Hugs, k.

Yes, would DEFINITELY get a wheel chair! (She'll have a great seat and you can sit with her).

jhenblue, there's also a monthly dinner for those around Indy (or willing to drive). We call it the "Westies Dinner" and you can get all the details by clicking on September 21, on the Events calendar in the right-hand column.

It's always 3rd Monday at Olive Garden in Avon. We call it the Westies Dinner because most of us are from west of the city. Hugs! k.

Donnita, we missed you! There were 8 of us there and the chatting was fun as usual.

I know what you mean about your Sailor... my son's 3rd Navy anniversary is coming up in September. Moments of my "little boy" pop through, but he's really a man now. Hugs! k.

We're back from Texas! It feels like an Arctic blast around here compared to the 103-105* we were experiencing! I had my friends mesmerized with stories of corn so tall it scared me... and a July without one temp in the 90s (they thought I was lying).

So, did we decide on a meetin'-up place in Warsaw? Or a date? It's helpful the further out we can get it on the calendar.

And this is a last-minute reminder to RSVP the Westies Dinner tomorrow night! Hugs, k.

I was out of town for the Tony's get-together. But, I'm willing to drive if it's on a Saturday (or Sunday afternoon). Since I've never been north of Carmel yet, they ALL sound good to me! (I've heard there's a some kind of college in South Bend...)
Hugs! k.

Hi Navy Dad Mark,
I couldn't make the last one you had, but if you organize another one I'll make sure to make that one.

Good Morning everyone! I agree that a Northern IN get-together would be great!
I live 25 miles north of Fort Wayne. My son is stationed in Sasebo, but is currently deployed.

I think a few "Northern Get-Togethers" is a great idea!

For those of you in or near (or willing to drive) central Indiana, please RSVP the Westies Dinner on Aug 17. I'm putting the reminder out early because we're about to head to Texas for the annual "Last Week of Summer on the River" vacation. Oh yeah, we've been missing those 105* days! :-o But, I'll be back in time for the dinner!

Hey, folks! There's a big airfare sale going on now through Thursday! Check your favorite airlines to see what they've got going. I just got round trips from Indy to Seattle for $198! Hugs, k.
