Hey everyone,
Had a fabulous time at GL this weekend. PIR was so impressive. The time flew by too quickly though. For those attending in the upcoming weekends, utilize military discounts and ask everywhere you go, we saved at many places. It was really cool to have complete strangers shaking Christoher's hand and thanking him for his service to our great country. One guy even bought his lunch!! Chris is off to Gulfport Mississippi. He was supposed to leave today (not sure what will happen d/t hurricane Gustav). I'm waiting on a phone call again, grrrrr.....Take care everyone.

Hi everyone,
Winding down this last week to PIR. We hit the road one week from today. I am so ancy and can't wait to see Christopher. He heads to Gulfport Mississippi for Seabee training next. He doesn't mind what we do the weekend for PIR, just looks forward to taking a shower by himself at the hotel. Take care.

Hello Hoosier Moms and Dad,
I got a call today. Christopher had 1 hour to visit. He earned the call, and said he could have called for 5 minutes earlier in the week. His thought was, "what's five minutes" and decided to wait. Good grief, I could of babbled lots of stuff in five minutes and listened to much more. He has battle stations Aug 26th. They must be the last DIV going throught it from the 8/29 PIR group. Vicki, yes we will be going to PIR and I am really proud to be winding down to "Mom, I'm a Sailor" phone call after completion of battle stations. We are from Cedar Lake, just a hop and skip away from Navy Dad Mark in Valparaiso, and only a bigger hop and skip away from Great Lakes. After PIR, Christopher will head to Gulfport, Mississippi for A school to become a Seabee. Can't wait to see him. Hanging in there a little bit longer. Take care you gies.

Hi everyone,
I am so pleased we have an Indiana group. My son Christopher has PIR 8/29. I am anxiously awaiting a phone call. I know he has battle stations any time now. I treasure the once a week letters, but it's just not as awesome as hearing his voice. He has had the hour long phone calls twice while at boot camp. The first call was earned. His letter this week said that his ankle keeps swelling and it's so hard not to worry. I'm holding on to faith in God and believing in my son to have the determination and strength necessary to get through. Take care everyone.
