Thanks, if he flys it will be his first plane ride!  It will be the begining of his adventure in the Navy.  He leaves on the 27th, I have been crying every day!

Matt's Mom Sandy  My grandson left January 7 from Indy. He was the only one and flew to O'Hare. It can be a long wait at O'Hare since they don't send a bus to meet every flight.

SailorMomSteph - She left January 8 from Indy.  Her godmother works for Meps.  Broke my daughter's heart to see her walking in the halls and couldn't say a word - just watch as she walked by. But that's the way it is - and they both understand.

Jen, when did your daughter leave? My son left from indy on feb 6....we werent sure abt flying/bus until that day but then there were only 4 so they flew.

Matt's Mom Sandy - My daughter left from Indpls - she flew.  She was the only person from Indiana at the time.

It all depends on the amount of recruits leaving - I think the recruiter said any more than 8 and they will drive them up.  Less than that they fly.  Flew into Indy and reported to the USO. She waited there for more recruits to join up and were bussed to RTC

My son leaves in about two weeks.  Does anyone know if he will take a bus or fly?

I was right where you were just yesterday Connie....did you go to the airport?  I bet he had the 2 22 flt.....it was nice to still get texts/calls at that point.  When I got the "im here" call, I got choked up....hang in there and we will get thru this!!  Look forward to 'the box' and letter soon!!
