Hi Kathy!!...I don't know if you consider Jeff close-by, but that's where I am!! :)
My daughter left on July 10th and her PIR is Aug. 31st. My daughter is a little older than yours...More than a little, her 10yr reunion was this summer!! :) I can't quite imagine having one leave so quickly after HS grad...But only a few more days til you see her again...I'm sure it'll be a proud moment. :)
Hello to all Indiana Moms. My name is Kathy Bierman and my daughter is ALMOST to her PIR. August 10th...the best birthday EVER !!! for this Mom. We live in Seymour so if there are any other Moms from close by I would love to chat with you. There are 3 kids from my daughter's class that have joined and one still to process thru MEPS in Indy. She is the first to leave for BC. she left June 13th...just 10 days after graduation from h.s. Miss her lots but we are now even more excited to see her. Hope all is well and I would love to know if there are any other's whose son/daughter is at BC now. My daughter is Div 245, Ship 03 .
Hi everyone! Still new to this site and to Navy in general, so figured what better place to start than with moms close to home! My son is 18 and leaves in 3 days for bc, then 7 mos in FLA for a-school. Wow! What an unbelievable cluster of emotions! Although there's of course sadness that he's leaving, I'm so overwhelmed with pride that I'm about to burst! But, the closer it gets, the harder it gets. Just nice to know I'm not alone and there's a world of mom's out there with advice. And let's face it...we all know mom's know best =)
