Well, I'm totally bummed this evening:  son's sub pulled out this morning for a long cruise and it's his birthday!  This is the second time Uncle Sam has given him departure for his birthday.  He was really low about leaving this time, because his wife is pregnant.  BUT, good news is that he should be back in plenty of time for the arrival :-)  Someone hand me a tissue...

first and foremost ladies, watch what you say, don't mean to sound harsh, but names, dates, etc should only be done in private. The safety of our sailors are the most important. that's on reason we don't use our real names on here.....names associated with ships, dates are dangerous and violate OPSEC (Operation Security), on the mail page for N4M you can find an explaination of OPSEC.

Last summer Becky had a Indiana Navy Lake Party and is planning on it again next year, we met several Navy parents and had a great time! Just something to keep in mind but of course it is in Northern Indiana, north of Fort Wayne but all are welcome!!

My son has been in almost 2 years, has been deployed on the Bush since May and will be returning in the very near future........planning on going to homecoming.....it's the ship's maiden deployment so it should be an awesome homecoming......he doesn't know we're coming so that should make it even more special.

I'll ask my daughter's bf Will J. if he knows Kara, Derrick or Jake. He has a sister named Lily. I did get to PIR...still get chills when I picture the overhead doors opening and the divisions marching in...did not make it to the meet and greet due to rain and chicago traffic.

Becky--American Airlines is filing for bankruptcy, although they state they are planning to continue flying.  So, they probably will not have discounts.
