Hi Holli.  My son graduated bootcamp with Evan.  In fact, I believe I saw you in the foyer of the Courtyard Marriott the morning we went to the PIR ceremony.  My son flew out Saturday morning for Dam Neck, VA.  So far, so good.  It's a lot better being able to have some contact with them.

It takes awhile to get used to not hearing from them and even now it is hard for my husband to talk to her because it makes him miss her even more. She is a engineman and boat engineer on the RHIBs (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats). It depends on what day you talk to her whether she likes it or not.lol It is difficult being a girl with more schooling than the men in a mostly men job. They ask her a question and when she doesn't tell them what they want to hear they ask someone else. The problem is she knows she is right.(hence the schooling) She is one of the only ones that was sent to C school straight out of bootcamp.

Mom 27. Do you get used to not hearing from them? Does she like it?what does she do?

Birds of a feather I thought I was okay but I apparently can't keep July & August straight. Lol. Not much longer for you hang in there. I am OK now I still have 15 days with my girl. It is starting to sink in to her and she is a mom as girl so I am strong for her.

Yes she has been in a lil over a year now and is currently serving on the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego. It is tough having them that far away from home and there are times when they are out doing certifications that she can't be reached for weeks but she is getting to do and see so much.

Girlnboots, thanks for thinking of me but I still have to wait a while to see my boy. His PIR is 8/16. Are you doing ok?
