Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

mrsb - so glad you had a good time at PIR. Where is your son going to be for school?

B'snukemom, it was absolutely amazing!!! My heart about stopped when the doors opened and they started marching in. Of course I tried to find my son in his division but they all look alike and I don't see well far away. He found us though and came trotting up the bleachers, almost knocked me over!! I got in all the hugs I could, even a kiss on his cheek. Anytime we walked around I held on to his "left" arm in a dignified way, even though I just wanted to hug him all the time. What a change in him, so confident, stands so straight and tall. It was just truly amazing. Wouldn't have missed it for the world!

mrsb - how did PIR go? I'm sure you had an amazing time and I hope you got in lots of hugs! Pretty cool when the big doors open up and they all march in!
JJ4Navy - your turn this week for PIR! How exciting for you - make sure to get lots of hugs too!
CBCMom - I can't make the Blue Star meeting tonight but I'm going to check it out and maybe I can make the next meeting. I would like to get involved in that.
My youngest and I did our trip to Portland to look at the college. I don't think he will be transferring after all.....We are going to make it work at the University of Redlands one way or another :) At least he will still be close to home!!
darsete - any dates yet for our next get together?
