Oh don't worry, I'll be posting!!  We fly out tomorrow afternoon-we used to live 15 miles from GL and never even knew it existed.  I swore I would never go back to Illinois-guess I shouldn't swear anymore.  LOL!  I'm hoping to meet some other ladies here but it seems like they're not on as often as I am.  I lurk around 4 different sites now, shameful!!!  BC for moms has been so great, and the 6-7 PIR group has been awesome, as I'm sure your PIR group is as well.  If nothing else you and I can get together sometime, after PIRs.  You'll be pretty busy next week as well so maybe after that?  I hope some other ladies on this site sign in soon.  :)

Hi JJ4Navy!  Nice to meet you!  It's nice to know there are other IE people out there, going through or already gone through the same things!  I hope to meet others in this group but you're the only one so far!  You're right behind me as far as PIRing goes-isn't it exciting???

Hi ladies....I found this group thru a discussion between mrsb & Heather on BC for moms too!  I'm in Chino Hills & my SR's PIR is 6/14.  He will stay in GL for A school.  Looking forward to being a part of this group! :)

Been pretty quiet on here - how is everyone doing?  College son is thinking about transferring to a small college in Oregon so we are taking a trip to Portland next week to check out the school and meet with the coach.  If he does transfer it will be a 16 hour road trip instead of just 30 minutes away like he is now! :(

Sailor son is still waiting for power school to start.  First they were told May 8, then June 24th and now he is hearing July 8th.  Nothing official though.....

Juliebelle - how is your son doing in Power school?

Any plans for another get together?

cbc mom - I can't make the event tomorrow but I am hoping sometime in the future to attend a Blue Star meeting.  Hope you all have a great time!

With Mother's Day this Sunday I thought that I would share this - I borrowed it from SoCalOhana back in January:

"I will cry without shedding tears, cringe without showing my fears, pray without moving my lips, dream always of incoming ships.....for I am the mother of a U.S.Sailor" Author Unknown

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day and big hugs to all of you! :)

No can do on Blue Star on 5/11 ... we'll be in SA to watch our dau graduate from A school that weekend (and she leaves for her first duty station shortly there after). Sorry to all.

Hi All - gonna miss everyone at the lunch tomorrow - college son has his track championships so we will be at that.

We did make it to So. Carolina last week for sailor son's A school grad.  Had a great time and it was soooo good to see him. Charleston is a lovely place to visit! He'll stay there as he waits for Power school to start....

Hope to see you all at the next gathering!
