Hi Darsete and other Riverside County Moms -

I belong to the Blue Star Mothers Chapter in Corona (CA30).  Our chapter president sent out this message so I'm reaching out to any Riverside County mothers to please send me or contact Teri directly with any addresses of those deployed.  (excerpt of message below).

The Corona Fire Fighters are preparing their second annual Holiday Care Packages for our deployed service members from Riverside County

If you know of any deployed service members who are from Riverside County please reply with their APO address so I can assist the Corona Fire Fighters with this great project.
Feel free to pass my email on to anyone who may have loved ones from Riverside County deployed.

Hi Darsete - wow - glad you heard from your son and his family!  It's just heartbreaking to see the damage caused by Sandy......

Hi everyone - well my son has been at boot camp just over a week now.  We got the "official letter" today.  He is ship02/div904 and his PIR is 12/21/12.  So excited for him and now getting ready to make travel plans! Hope everyone is doing well.... and in other good news the youngest made it to Regionals for his college cross country team so we are heading to Oregon next weekend to see him run!  Woo Hoo!!

Happy Friday All - kind of quiet here....

This is our last weekend with our son - he goes to the recruiters on Monday and ships on Tuesday!  We will be going to San Diego and spending the night and then watching the swearing in on Tuesday.  I can't believe the time is finally here.  He is so ready - and I am slowly getting there!

Hi all, son got to GL on Oct 2.  waiting to hear from him in one form or other.  Live here in Apple Valley and thought it would be nice to know some people closer to home.

Hi Everyone - hope you all had a nice lunch on Saturday.  We had niece and her family (new baby - 4mos.) in town and visited with them.  They are from Kansas - they sold everything they own and are leaving 11/10 for Peru to live/work on an organic farm!  Crazy......they are taking 1 duffel bag with them with some clothes and that is it......She's not even taking diapers for the baby because she has been potty training him since birth! (I think she is the one being potty trained LOL). Interesting situation to say the least.  Anyhow I missed everyone on Saturday.....my count down has really begun - 14 days till we take the boy to MEPS!  I look forward to seeing everyone on 12/8 and Julie I am anxious to hear how your trip went!

Hi all - just checking in to see how everyone is doing?

Juliebelle - how was your visit with your son?  I'm sure you had an amazing time - can't wait to hear about it.

We got the youngest moved into the dorms - he's been there 2 weeks now and his classes start tomorrow.  He's having a great time - it was hotter than heck the day we moved him in though!

Can anyone tell me at boot camp when they do their running (including the test) do they run indoors or outdoors?  I thought I read somewhere that it was all inside but my son is saying he thinks it is on an outside track.  Just wondering?!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday off :)

Oh Navymomx2 - so sorry to hear about your friends son.  Please give her a hug for me and let her know that her family is in our prayers.
