For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Don’t forget that the Marine Moms are meeting Sunday afternoon, Oct. 9, to decorate Christmas stockings for the boxes they'll be packing next month for the deployed. Email me for details. We are always invited to their meetings.
"Our adopted sailor" graduated on September 16. He’s going to school at Great Lakes and will be home the week of the 17th before he goes to his ship in Norfolk. Recruiter O’Neill says he’ll be in the office working to earn some vacation time. I thought about doing a potluck at the office but we could go out. What do you think? Maybe going out would be better. We'll try for the 17th or the 20th.
The CBWTU-IL Family Readiness Group will be hosting a bake sale to raise funds for the Wounded Soldiers and their families on Arsenal Island on Oct. 18, 11am-2pm. They want donations by October 16. (Call Hollie Bedford @ 563-676-8986)
The 18th is the next Legion Auxiliary meeting. I invite you to attend if you can. It's in Davenport at noon. Please be my guest for lunch and the meeting.
The 19th is the Wounded Soldier Luncheon at 11am, Rock Island Arsenal Northern Pavilion. I'll get more details, but come with me!
I'm collecting gently used and new scrubs (bottoms only, M, L, XL) to send to the hospital at Camp Dwyer in A-stan. You can drop them off at the Legion any weekday morning or contact me.
Save your Scentsy orders until I get organized! A Navy wife has offered to give all profits of a book party to cover the cost of supplies and postage for the next packing party we organize.
