What ship and div is he in?
Hello, Yes it will get better. My son left on Jan. 11,2010. On that friday, we recieved his belongings in a box; then, the next day we recieved a ltter from the Navy, telling us about graduation and address and other information, and my son was able to write a little on the back page. He will do fine. Just write as often as you want. It may be a couple of weeks before they are able to call. Lynn
Hi my son left on last Wends. I have been in a fog pretty much since then and cry at the strangest things. I got his call and now am waiting for his address. I will feel better when I can write to him. Hang in there .
Hang in there Lynn, we are in the same boat. Waiting for box and address for my step daughter. The waiting is the worst part for me. I will find you and request you as a friend. Prayers go out to you and your recruit. your friend Pam (A's step-mom)
Thanks I can use all the friends I can get I got my sons address from his recruiter maybe you can get your loved ones address faster that way. Take care.
Hello, my son arrived in GL yesterday, I received his I'm here call last night, and I've cried every since he left. I am waiting on the box and address. I can't wait till I can talk to him again it seems at certain points I can't breathe.... I am so PROUD of him and his courage and dedication to serve and protect as I am of all military personnel. Prayers to everyone and their recruits. Thanks for listening, is there anyone out there that their recruit left on monday 1/25/10 for MEPS and arrived GL 1/26/10, I would love to here from you. I know when my son was at MEPS he met 6 recruits that went up with him, they all sounded excited about the journey ahead of them on the way to airport. God Bless
My son left for MEPS on 1/24/10 and arrived GL 1/25/10. I miss him, but am very PROUD of him. The hardest part is knowing that I can't just call him whenever I want. He texted me when he arrived in Chicago & said that he would arrive at BC in about an hour. 5 hours later & no call. I was starting to worry. Finally the call came around 9:30 pm. Now I wait for the box and an address. I'd love to get to know you as our sons go through BC.
The box came today. I am suprised at how quickly it arrived. Hope the letter comes equally quickly.
It sounds like Ethan is one day ahead of Grant. I know what you mean about not being able to call him. I actually called his cell phone last night I just wanted to hear his voice. I will probably receive his box tomorrow. Maybe we will receive letters next week. I hope they are doing well I know when they get past the first 10 days or so they will love it. I would love to stay in touch you can also email me at luckey7@catt.com anytime. I will keep you in my prayers and when you talk to Ethan, tell him thank you for his courage and dedication we all are in a safer place because of our sailors to be and sailors. Let me know when you hear from him and find out what ship and division he is in and I'll do the same. I'll talk to you soon. God Bless
Have you recieved Grant's "Box" yet? I've seen some posts where mom's have received the form letter within a few days of the box. I recieved Ethan's box on Thursday. But no letter yet. I hardly ever saw him when he was here. He was always at work or with friends. But now that I have no way to contact him, I can't stop thinking about him. I'm not really worried about him. I'm sure he is doing fine. I just think about him. Like when I was making spaghetti for dinner the other night, I remembered how much he loves spaghetti & would be sorry that he missed it. I am eager to be able to send him letters & anxious to make travel arrangements for his PIR.
I haven't received his box yet, I am getting a little concerned. We have been having some bad wether here so I think that may be why. We had snow on friday and thats when I thought I would receive my box since Ethan left arrived on monday in GL. If I don't receive the box tomorrow I am going to call the recruiter. Just wondering do they address the box themselves. I have already made our arrangements for for his PIR it should be on friday March 26, from what his recruiter tells me.
I received the box friday and the letter saturday...JT is in ship 09 div 131 ...graduation is 19 Mar. He arrived in GL on the 26th...They get to write a little note on the bottom of the form letter they send.."Having fun!" His dad and I both were in the Navy so he is probably thinking he is at home...lol Hang in there the letter will come and then you will be waiting for another letter and another letter...
