For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

He's finished A-school and Nuclear Power School (as of 12/2/11) and June 1 he packs his room up and drives from Goose Creek, SC up to Ballston Spa, NY for six months of Prototype School. He's so excited to finally be done with grad hold and moving on. Remind me again what rating your son is and where he is stationed out of.

She is on the other side of the country but at least we can visit. A vacation to San Deigo is being planned for vacation now! Many thanks to all of you ladies. I was able to keep my sanity because of this site. God Bless you all!

He's done with A-school (14 weeks), Power School (6 months) and now on grad hold for 4-8 months then on to Prototype School for another 6 months. If he is lucky and chosen, he will then go on to ELT school for another 3 months!!!! Hey, sounds like maybe your son is the lucky one. lol So good to hear from you here and sounds like your son is doing well. Take care and stay in touch.

Tomorrow will be one year since we were all in the snow and cold , seeing our new sailors after 9 very emotional weeks. Some of us got to enjoy that snow a little longer than others~ wink! Anyway. I hope that everyone is doing well and that your sailors are doing well. My sailor is still in Japan on USS George Washington. He has done very well at adapting to the Navy now. If you all remember, he wasn't doing very well when he first got there. 2 tours on the ship shipped him up to say the least. He likes it a lot, but still has love/hate relationship with Navy! LOL! I say.. welcome to LIFE!! You all take care. Thank ALL of you for the love, help, and being a HUGE support during those weeks of bootcamp. There is never a day I don't think how much I would not have made it without all of you. All of you take care and God Bless you, your family, your sailors and the United States Navy!!

Thank you. My sailor has been there over a week & we have skyped three times. We are getting to talk to him more than when he was away at college. He likes it. Says that it is a very traditional town. Has to get used to finding his way around on the ship.
