For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Penny_Nuke_MM2_NimitzNuke on December 6, 2010 at 3:15pm: Funny (okay, not so funny) we now have two boys in the same ship and division and one has a PIR of 1/21 and the 2nd has a date of 1/28 scratched out and replaced with 1/21 but RTC is adamant that the grad date is 1/28 ... anybody want to pull our hair out for us as our hands are too busy grabbing at the alka seltzer !!

Mine originally had PIR on 1/28 but then crossed out and changed to 1/21 and a PS at the very bottom of the last page stating that they were told they were graduating a week earlier. In calling in to the RTC, they say that they don't know why there would have been a change and felt it was a mis-order and that the graduation is actually on the 28th and NOT on the 21st, as the recruits were told. I want to pull my hair out!!! Anybody have similar stories?

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on December 6, 2010 at 10:56am: I understand how you feel Denise, I thought my form letter would never come. It took almost 3 weeks. I actually had a real letter from my daughter before I got the form letter. Hang in there, maybe it will show up today :-)

He said they are not sent till week 3 or 4 (odd info since other mom's who have son's leaving same time or later are receiving letters). He told me to wait and call next week if still nothing received. :-(
