Good Morning everyone, I was asked by one of your members to join your group. I guess she thought I had a lot of different experiences with the Navy so far and I am very willing to help out or answer questions so here I am. She also wanted to order ribbons to wear to PIR and thought that others may want them too. So here I am. :-)

A little about me: I have a daughter who had PIR July 23, she was grad and go on a chartered flight (thanks God that doesn't happen often) she was in the choir in the performing division (900's) She is an AO, went to Pensacola for A-school and is finishing c-school this week in VA. She got married during a-school, her husband left for boot camp 4 days later and had PIR (which he was unable to attend the ceremony) Oct 29th. He is in Pensacola for a-school and is an IT. I am the mom who makes ribbons for N4M members to wear to PIR and/or meet and greet. They are a great way to show support for your sailor, a great way to recognize or N4M members at PIR, and they make an awesome keepsake for your scrapbook or frame/shadowbox. I make each one by hand and only charge enough for supplies and shipping. It is my way of paying it forward because without this site I don't think I could have survived my daughter joining the Navy. It was quite a unexpected shock for me. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask. I am happy to help. Just click on my name and add me as a friend if you have questions or are interested in the ribbons. There are pics of them on my page. Thanks, and welcome to N4M's.

I just got off the phone with my sons best friend and a 6/11 depper and from a family of Navy boot campers and he stated that at times when the division either did really well on ASVABs or passed their PQS early, they don't need to spend as much time with them in class in boot camp and can move them up a week earlier for graduation.

My son is ship 11 div 054 why would ship 11 div 058 be graduating before div 054? Can we get some clarification please? My son indicated on his form letter that his graduation date was 1/28 is there a reason they maybe moving some ships up? Concerned mom wanting to know because we have booked our hotel and arranged to have the time off of work to attend the graduation. How often do they update the website that lists the graduation dates?

Oh yeah, you can surely say that. All I know is that every time I change the airline ticket, it is another $75.00 change fee.

Hi all,
I was gone over the weekend - got back today and received my son's letter telling me his PIR is 1/21/2011 so it looks like I'll be joining your group. It's so great to be able to connect with others who are experiencing the same thing! My son is in Ship 11 Div 58.

Jessica - I'm a planner too! We're in Charlotte and do get snow, but not much...usually! I have this crazy fear that if I fly, and there's a bad snow storm our flight will be cancelled and I'll miss graduation! Crazy thoughts...I know. Same would apply for the drive. We jump in the car and get stuck in the snow. Crazy the thoughts that go through your head!

What's nuts is that I'm generally not the worrying type!

Thanks for the great feedback - I'll certainly consider all of it.
