Hi room I don't know why today is bothering so much. I have been searching for hotels rooms and I finally booked at the Ramada. It hit me that my son is gone and I just miss him so much. I know it is not long before I see him but I really would love to hear his voice. How long before they are able to make the first phone call home?

Got the letter off several days ago all about pictures and told him I'd be putting money into his bank account to pay for it - since we can't do much else, that is going to be his Christmas present. His recruiter told me "please don't bake up a bunch of cookies and send them unless you really want your son to get razzed, it's not a good idea". My other son, 6 years in, told of a recruit that was sent a whole box of mini snicker bars and the Commander Chief called him in front of the division and made him do pushups for the entire time as he stood there and ate every single one of the recruit's snicker bars!!!! Be warned.

Golden Gator, here's hoping that Denise, Kathy and myself will all get our form letters today - we are all in the same ship and division and sure need some encouraging news. Right, ladies?
