Also, my heart aches for all of you saying your good byes today. I know the feeling.
Wonderful news TLynn. Another wedding? You hardly have time to breath.
Welcome cookieb. What a perfect day to travel to Japan. Those on leave will be traveling back. Your son will hopefully meet someone traveling back. What cities does he fly through?
We had planned a simple Christmas with our two sons that are here. We went to the movies and planned to bar bq steaks. We went to a movie theater that served drinks and food. We came home full and decided to bbq tomorrow. Sailor missed Christmas dinner also. He didn't know that it was served at 3:00. Poor thing, he said he would wait until breakfast to eat. He was most disappointed that his aunts, uncles and cousins didn't call. I contacted my sister and told her to email him a time that they would call. He had to be outside to get the call. They didn't bother. Grrrrr.
I was sick all weekend. Getting worse each day. This is the first year that I have been done early and the first year that I did not plan a big dinner. I must have esp. I could sure use a healing spell TLynn.
We went to dinner at the SILs, and had a great visit with the nephew. He's now been to ports where we (me and Larry) were stationed, or were we have visited, so we can now share and compare sea stories. We talked over tattoos; he wants a Navy one, but nothing like an anchor, a cutie, or the pig and chicken because they are so simple to mess up. Maybe the swallows on the chest, he likes the symbology. His GF wanted him to get online, but he'd told her, No, not during family time. He's a great guy! Already in the air this morning, back to Groton.
My sailor in Japan is having a nice morning, his wife made homemade cookies and called her mom at two in the morning to ask baking questions. So cute!
Bittersweet day today.....so thrilled to have the unexpected visit from Katie, but today we have to say 'goodbye'.
Thinking of all of those who have had their sailors home, or will over New Year's...praying for those who are apart.
cookieb...strap in and hang on for the ride.....you will go through soooo many emotions, but always remember.....this group of Ladies are awesome and are ALWAYS here , we brag, vent, cry, etc
We are family here...
Ladies, sorry to say I didn't show up for the toast, I was chasing a 3 and 2 year old around while trying to finish up dinner, but you were all on my mind.
I lit a candle for Nick again today, he was heavy on my mind
I hope you all had a wonderful day, I did, tomorrow will be much different, but I will hold today in my heart forever !!
My son leaves for Yokosuko (USS Mustin) tomorrow . We were blessed to have him home the past 3 weeks after boot camp and A school. Please keep him, along with all our sailors, in your prayers.
I already miss him and he hasn't even left yet.
