His flight from Ft. Lauderdale was almost 17 hrs altogether - 14 hrs from Detroit to Japan - agree, that's just a little too long for my blood.
Well - before I scroll through and see how everyone is doing - my sailor surprised me and showed up Dec 31 and left this morning! I was one happy momma! Wasn't able to spend Christmas but got New Years and his 21st birthday! Bless his heart, he had it planned for months and everyone but me knew! One of his friends slipped about a month ago, got my imagination wondering - but surprise wasn't spoiled!
Blondie, I could not send you a message, because you are not my 'friend' anymore LOL. I am going to Virginia Beach this weekend. Were will you be?
Hi All,
So good to see you Miss! And yippee out of the boot. You will be dancing soon. WE know about snow days. Right now we are getting freezing rain days! congrats to your son and glad you had some daughter time.
Blondie - honey - just get some time off and relax. Good vibes being sent for the house for rent.
Sully, I have to do the same thing about cookies. But those mint ones - addictive !
Kim - check in. Getting a bit worried - no words form you.
And sweet Maggs - gentle hugs
Miss, glad you're out of that boot! Holidays can be so Exhausting. WooHoo to son!!!! We too laugh at some of the delays and cancelations in other states. We just put on more clothes and leave a bit early. LOL My parents were in Crossville TN and they'd close schools and businesses if they saw a snow flake, not sure if they were scared to drive or just wanted to go out to play. LOL Although some of those mt. roads were dangerous, they'd just close them. That's what is scary about driving through WV this time of year. But not gonna let that stop me! hahaha
Scully, Nice to hear from you. I agree didn't need those girl scout cookie sales! but how do you say no to those Granddaughters?! mine also will get shipped out as soon as I get them, get rid of that temptation. LOL
By 9pm last night they added severe thunderstorm warnings to our list. and yes people were loosing electricity. Phone wouldn't stop ringing! Then at 11:45pm my eldest daughter texted her husband wanted something for sore throat and sinus, I told her Thanks for the late night text, tell him to suck it up, I'd bring stuff this weekend. she was still texting at 12:15, I finally said Love you and turned phone off but then couldn't sleep. UGG
Rain and high winds for the next 2 days/nights and then temps. dropping back to low 20's. we're re- thinking our departure date/time. So if you don't hear from me Know I am enjoying my kids! hope you all have a safe and Fun weekend.
Our new intern started Monday, he asked Dr. T you let her have time off now?! She replied I told her she could work 3 weeks and have 1 off. So I said, after I threatened to retire she hired a part-time girl so I leave whenever I want. House we were looking at and considering putting a bid in on (across the street from Sailors) went up for rent !!!! Daughter sent me a picture of sign so I'm putting it on Doc. desk this morning. Bahahaha
The biggest lurker of them all here - our office manager (and wife to one of the partners) brought in their daughter's Girl Scout cookie order form. Just what I needed (not) - but going to order for home and for Operation Cookie Drop!!! Now there's something to get everyone excited about.
It's been extremely cold here - thankfully we've got a fews days of respite weather. I'm over the cold.
Hope everyone's new year gets up and running with better days.
Good morning Pan Moms! I have been meaning to update about my foot. I am out of the walking boot! Yay! Got to start tapering out of it, on December 19! After 23 weeks of it, I was ready. I wore 2 shoes on Christmas Day. I still am doing intense stretches and some days it is "achy" but that may be that I will always have a "weather foot".
We had a really nice Christmas and enjoyed getting together with all of our families, but I was pretty tired when it was all over. We enjoyed having our daughter home for a few days, and have been missing her.
My son passed his FAA flying test yesterday for his private license and is so excited about that. He is enrolled for this semester and will be doing lots of flying this time. He and wife bought a new truck right before Christmas. She is loving it. He said he doesn't get to drive it much. He still has his older one.
Blondie, reading about your weather makes me cold. I got a "snow day" Friday. Honestly there was no snow on the ground only on the leaves. But we were being told that the bridges were icy. Since we get so little, our Transportation Dept. does not have the equipment or means to handle it. The bridge I cross here in City has still got slag on it. I guess the City didn't have any salt. I snap chatted a picture to my daughter and she showed it to everyone at work and she said they could not believe that I had a snow day. It was quite funny. We did a blast of cold weather. Sunday it was down to 7 here and that is mighty cold for Mississippi. Today is suppose to be in the upper 50's and by the weekend up to 72 (shorts, tee shirt and flip flop weather for us).
I hope everyone is well, and that all are hearing from your Sailors.
Thinking of you, Maggs, and lifting you and your family up in prayer.
Blondie, enjoy your time with your sweet daughter and all of her friends at the baby shower. Prayers for safe travel. (With your weather today, I would have gotten another snow day!) LOL!
snow/sleet/rain arrived. wind is coming under winter storm advisory and wind advisory starts at 10am. UGG everything is covered in ice and snow melting.....Yuck!
