T-Lynn, you have admin powers here, so if we get spam or bad opsec you can delete the post.

I haven't heard from melia in quite a while. I know she has two little kids, so maybe she's just busy.

Thanks for the help on my sore tongue. But I was not able to get out to a store last night. So I did the next best thing - Jack Daniels - Black Label No 7.
I feel good all over ! But can't have that during the day - so my son is going out to store to day and I'll have him get me that gel. Thanks Anit M for the reminder of loose lips, but still what did I actaully volun-told for? By the way - anyone heard from Melia lately? Got to go - starting of getting ready for Mom's 89th birthday this Halloween! Hugs to all :) Tlynn

I've seen some poor posts elsewhere, so I'd like to keep all our new members up to speed on the subject of OPSEC. If you don't know what it is, please go read this:

I'm a bear on OPSEC!!!!! This board is far from secure, so don't talk ship's movement. Most folks here do very, very well, but I thought I'd help educate any newbies.

Anti M - Thanks for your response. I got the impression from my daughter that that may be the way things are with leaves, but wondered what someone with more experience had to say. I appreciate your input.

Just what did I volun-told for? If it is for sharing good gossip - that's fits me to a T. Chiro? I thought physical therpay would be offered. I'm out of the loop, but keep us posted please on he is. And the the father-n-law Clauia and the guy on the plane Jim.
By the way I bit my tongue real bad last night. Yes - I was gossipping when i did it. But any remedity ideas? Oh do I hurt. But smiling :) TLynm PS Let you know how my sailor does with being in his dress blues. - I htink it happens this week.

Jill, the chiro remark surprises me too. We weren't allowed to see chiros when I was in, the Navy didn't have them on staff. They have just begin using them. Personally, I wouldn't see an offbase doc of any sort without a written referral in hand, and especially not in Japan. On the other hand, a chiro may be able to fix the problem quickly and cheaply. I simply have no ideas about how to find one. My ex-pat friends there don't answer their emails often enough.

Back pain is tricky, there is actually very little which can be done for it other than time and rest. I'm surprised they haven't offered some sort of physical therapy for him.

Anita... LOL, the term is "volun-told". I moderate elsewhere (nothing to do with N4M) so I'd be comfortable with it. I'm honored. I didn't see the call out.

Marianne, leave policy varies by division, depends on what they do and what they are doing. They look at who got leave the last time, if all jobs are covered, who had leave days expiring, and who the slackers are. Even slackers get to take leave, but you'd better believe they don't get the choice time slots. The "new guys" don't get the best choices of leave days, which can be looked at as seniority. It is all very flexible and depends on the input of the LPO, the chief, and the Div-O.

Anyone know the answer to this question..... How do they determine who gets what leave in December?......A mom posted this on one of my other group's site and no one responded. My daughter said that during SAR there were too many gone from her shop, so they were going to have to pay more attention during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year leave time. Any idea if iit is by seniority, time on the ship?????
