No one said you were any less of a person for worrying.

"base pay" not vase pay, sorry.

Butterfly, they can save up to 60 days before they start to lose earned days. With a letter from the command stating they have been essential and not allowed to take leave, they can keep more days longer. While there may be long stretches when they simply can't take leave, three years seems excessive. His ship must really need him? And although expensive, they make enough to afford the trip. In addition to their vase pay, Nukes get sea pay (if on a ship). Does he say why he's not be granted leave?

Daniella, yes, alcohol is served, but the Navy is also very strict about things such as taxis. He must be 21 to drink. He's an adult, he gets to decide if he goes or not, sorry, girlfriend. As for the Navy girls... I am insulted. I used to be in the Navy, and I didn't go around stealing men. These are professionals women he is working with, and he will for years. If temptation is there, it is up to him to resist it. Being controlling from a long distance is a sure way to make him less interested in getting married. Show you trust him to make the right decisions, no matter if he attends or not.

They get 30 days of leave a year. Some of the sailors that were sent to Japan for 3 years this past April are coming home at Christmas, so not sure why you son hasn't been home.

Hi All :)
I'm going to be off the site for a couple of days. Much going on here.
1st. Mom will be 89 on Halloween. So busy with pies - cakes and cookies and then trick or treaters.
2nd. My mother was just told today - she has a non agressive form of cancer in the uterus. She is seeing a speicalist on November 4th and we will know then what will take place. She is in good spritis. ( No pun for the holiday)
3rd - I'm going to need a day of rest after all my crank duty. So I'll talk again on Monday - by then I should have great gossip from Mom's birthday.
Catch a falling Autumn leaf on Halloween night- and prosperity will come to your home all year long :) Good luck catching a Leaf! And wishing you a very Happy Halloween Hugs!! TLynn

Any jar which might break should also be in a plastic bag, well sealed. I had a friend who sent jars and bottles with just paper wrapped around them. The post office handed me my box in a trash bag, the bottles had broken and soaked the box. Ick!

T-Lynn, fall is my favorite season also. I have mailed my son homemade jam. Wrap it well (I used newspapers) and pack it tight. He traveled back to Japan last year with several jars in his bag. I wrapped them for him but I don't think they where that tight in his bag. He gave one to his chief.

Not what I meant, T-Lynn, sorry for the confusion. I meant you could ask them if they carry apple butter in case you can't send it easily. He could pick it up himself.
