For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Thanks for all the information Will send it along. What conversations we have on this site - SKype - Long Johns - and food. I tried to share this with my sailor adn he was actually silent over the phone. Need to rush off - starting teh foods for the big dinner tomorrow. Oh they like the idea of Cementary Chuncks! So far the Eye Ball casseraole is the one they asked for. Share all teh gossip later have a good day TLynn

I hated bulky long johns under my uniform. Although they're expensive, the silk long johns from Lands End are great. Especially for girls!
T-Lynn, he can be assigned other work while cranking. Maybe he can do food prep or gopher for the cooks.

Hi and Welcome New Moms!
Only thing I ask - since your sailors are in Japan NOW and weather getting cold - did they pack long johns? if not - you might like to send send them a couple or three pairs! SOS - SOS need advice. Son called this morning - one of the crew still on crank duty is having an allergic reaction to the soap used in cleaning the kitchen. It ate one layer of his skin off. the doc of the ship told him to keep his hands dry. He is on crank duty?! I've never kept my
hands dry working and cooking in teh kitchen! Ideas to help this sailor out ? TLynn PS Family arriving for weekend and the gossip has started. PSS I think the ship is Yoko

I saw houses with narrow garages that had lifts, you parked one car, raised it up, then parked another one underneath it!
We paid $30 a month to park our motorcycle in someone's front yard. Our house was up a flight of stairs on the side of a hill.

Tokyo is high end, unless you just hit the ancient temples and find the hole in the wall places to eat.
I lived off base, but I sure knew which of the tiny restaurants were good places to eat and cheap. If they can order in Japanese (not half as hard as it seems) they can get along well in the local places. I knew Yokosuka far better than I did Atsugi area, and Yokosuka seemed to have a more bustling town right outside the base. They aren't too far apart by train, 45 minutes? An hour? I truly don't recall, I didn't go to Atsugi very often, except for a C school. As fro how many miles?. LOL. Distance is measured by travel time sin Japan, either train times or driving times.
