Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I think for the contractual time to be served it is from the day they swear in at MEPS and climb on the plane. Pretty sure. Boot camp and school do count, that's why rates with super-long schools must enlist for a few more years.

This is what is special about this site Wendy - everyone REALLY does care. They care enough to question each other - challendge each other - and in the end always come together. Everyone get in line - start the hugs for Navy Dad - Me First! Hug. Oh Wendy - Navy Dad has alot of courage to be one this site with all of us ladies. To ease us into liking him - he sent a picture of a movie star that others say he looks like - George Clooney. Did that start a conversation on this site! I still think he looks more like Magnum - with more gray. Ok - who's next in sending hugs? TLynn

Personally, I prefer authenticity. I'm direct, often concise and forthright. I think I will keep my personality, thank you. The Navy taught me many things, and tip-toeing when a straight up response would do was not one of those things. So shoot me.

And Wendy, I do apologize if I upset you. Don't take it personally, okay?

I wasn't jumping on her, Kathleen, there's nothing wrong with pointing out an OPSEC violation, ever. New moms need to learn too, and if we don't say hey, what did you mean, then how can they learn? Sorry you read it as so terrible.
