Welcome Ladies,
You will enjoy this sight. ALl of us share about our sailors - our joys and our concerns. But I have found this place to be so warm and friendly. Especially when questions are in need of correct answers. But mostly, when one is in need - you have friends that reach out and care. Share more about your salors - I am all ears to hear :) Linn - had the same scared feeling when my son left for Japan too. Just talk to all of us - we really listen. T;Lynn

Hi !!!
Just got off the phone with my son! He is having a good time on his spring tour. Sounds so strong and confident. He stated that the sailor with the chicken pox came through just fine adn no one else came down with it. And he shared that he is a Shell Back! He was happy that I had shared about his cousin's illness and the storm in southern Illinois. Thanks all for the advice. Things in S/ IL are still hard - no power. But have head from ALL family and friends - they are safe! Just now they have to clean up and do major repairs.

Charlie - positive thoughts sent to Southern Illinois. Right now, that is all I can ask. We are still trying to get details. And Melia - yes - it brings wonderful memories. I still have some art/craft items that both my sons made in grade school and Cub Scouts. I still put them out to decorate for holidays. Thanks ladies for sharing the love. T-Lynn

Happy Mother's Day - and Dad too :)
Everyone thank you for the great advice. I have done what you all have suggested. Now I am waiting to hear from my son. But getting any more news about my cousin - might be a while. I had shared earlier that Southern Illinois was hit by 100 mph striaght winds. A wide area of the region was hit bad. Very Bad. We finally have been hearing from family and friends - by cell phones only. My uncle - retired Navy and 83 years old- called to say they survived, but possible of $100,000.00 damages to the farm. He ssaid the Red Cros was setting up. They get the news off their car radios and cell phones. About my cousin - with the cancer ( sorry , I don't know what kind it is ) - the little town of Raliegh - where he lives was hit too. Using a neighbor's cell phone they called to say they were find too. There is no power though - but he started up the grill and is cooking food The only complaint coming out of him - I need a cold beer! Mycxousin last message to me - before the storm was to tell my son this: " You tell him - when he gets back from Japan - for him to get himself down here. Then we will get up early - get in the truck and going fishing."

Your good thoughts have already arrived and brought good news. My Mother is talking with her brother now! They did alright, but part of farm damaged. And I will be sharing with my son - you are right - he needs the truth as I was looking for it too I will keep you posted and and thanks for sending the rainbow. T-:ynn

I need some good thoughts. Southern Illinois was hit bad with 90 mph straight winds or tornado. In the news you might hear the city of Carbondale and the SIU Campus. Many smaller towns were hit too. We have many family members and friends living throught the area - only have reach two by cell phones - and they are ok, but shared it is so bad there. Your positive thoughts are needed - please send them. And do I share this with my sailor? He has a pseical cousin he is so close too. And that cousin just came down with a form of cancer. Please share ideas.. Sorry to put up bad news - just need advice. T-Lynn

I was going to wait to wish all of you ( even Navy Dad) Happy Mother's Day. But I received a post card from my son wishing me a Happy Mother's Day - so I just had to get on and share. That card made my day! Hope all of you will have a joyous weekend. And gets hug through the mail -emails - phone calls - from your sailors. Take care T-Lynn
