You can get almost anything in a vending machine in Japan. Or at least you could when I was there.

They get their luggage first so it can be inspected. Depending on what time of day they get in, the customs lines can be awful.

Staci, your son is right, the vending machines in Japan can be amazing. I assume he's discovered the beer machines already?! The hot coffee in cans in winter were my favorite, they get turned to chill for iced coffee in summer.

Good Morning :)
I just off the phone with my son !!!!!!! It was so good to hear his voice. He was at the base's laundry mat. He said it gets good YFI service and it is the quietest place on the base - so he could talk and hear me. He is still out on tour and will not return until mid June. Still on crank duty too. Yes, he is cranky. He was sharing about sights he has seen and hopeful of getting a chance to see some musuems. And he was very happy to hear that the Cubs won last night! I hope everyone's day starts off nice like mine - talk later Terry

Good Morning.
I have made a collection too. Every email that we have sent and all responces from him - are copied and placed in a special note book. When down, I go back a re-read his messages. My friends are tyring to help me create a Navy Scrapbook about him too. Then having this sight to go to, what a comfort. Oh - I made four of the 5 Minutes Chcocoate Cakes, with the chocoalte chips this time. My Mom likes it better with the chips. Now I am considering experiemeting with flavored chips! Anyway - Navy Moms and Dads - have a great day. Terry :)

So nice to hear how we all hold them close when they are so far away. My locker at work looks like a Navy/Kathryn memorial!!! Kathryn called 7 more weeks give or take. Has anyone seen a return from deployment when it is a flight squadron? I've seen pics of the ships coming back and I cry it is so awe inspiring. But I don't know about flight squadrons.

Debi awww I would have cried too!!! Thanks Carol hearing from you both made me feel like I am not 'crazy mom'. There is no better sound than...love you mom.

Thanks for the info. Will go to the post office in the am to order fpo boxes and will try again. I heard from Kathryn for Easter it had been 28 days it seemed like forever..just so wonderful to hear her voice. Before she was deployed I had her leave me a message on my phone. It really helps during those long periods in between just to hear her say I love you.....sorry just being a mushy mom. I really feel for all those moms with their sailors deployed for years. God bless you all.

Hi Everyone.
Ok - I made the 5 Minute Chocolate Cake. My mother was willing to be a taste tester - for the beneift of her Grandson in the Navy. She said ; "this is good!" And I agree - it is good and it is a perfect serving size. Big enough to share, but I don't think my son would. What's nice - it is easy to make and it is an easy clean up. And knowing my son - he will add extras - ice cream - syrups - nuts. etc. I did not add the chocolate chips though, so I have to try that later. Maybe my husband and other son will be taste testers. Let you know. And the splash amount of vanilla = 1/8 teaspoon . I forogttot share this.- My Mom has to be careful about foods/recipes with high salt and soda added. No worries here - there is NO salt or soda added! Ok - everyone - ENJOY !!! And my apoligy to Kim - it is you that shared the possible of exchanging indredients for a recipe to meet the needs of persons on the Weight Watcher program or those who are diabetic. I am sorry to have miss that. But please share the recipe too. I have relatives who could use it. Thanks Terry. PS right now - the Cubs are loosing. I need to go make me another cake for comfort.
