Hi Kathy
So glad to hear that your daughter had an enjoyable experience getting to Japan. What a wonderful beginning to a memory journal for her to create. And with all those pictures - a real keepsake. Take care Terry

My daughter Katie left for Japan on Saturday AM from Detroit-Chicago-Japan and then on to Sasebo. I haven't heard from her yet? Do you remember how long it took for you to hear 'Hi Mom! I arrived safely?"

Anti M - I really thought I was seeing Antia. I am sorry. My son's computer has s different type of screen and I can see the words clearer. But thanks for not being mad. And please continue with the stories. Terry

I think I'll do a discussion and talk about all the wonderful things I love about Japan. There's so much, the food, the crafts, the art, the culture and religions, places I liked and even buying a Harley through military car sales.

With all this conversation - who needs TV !. And to the Navy Dad - Mark: Carol stated your son has not yet left for Japan. Well, you and your son go out for a beer and then just share all the great knowledge form this site - can't hurt. Anita - start telling your adventures - my ears are waiting to listen. I just need to go and put the coffee pot on the stove and get me a cup. I am old fashion, the coffee perks over an open flame and then that magical aroma fills the entire house. My girl freind took me grocery shopping, she went to get a few items and came looking for me. She found me in the coffee aile. I had my eyes close and was leaning on the cart. She tap me and asked "What's up?" I looked at her and replied: " I am doing my aroma therapy" May all your lives be filled with joy. Thanks for brighten mine. T:)

Kim, some of the coffee is a lot better than others. I liked them because I could stuff them in my pockets hot and keep my hands warm on the walk to base!

Our tiny house was only heated with kerosene heaters, every now and then hubby and I would rent one of the Love Hotel rooms just to use the monster soaking tub to warm up thoroughly. Yeah, baby!

Aw shucks, Navy Dad, I haven't talked about the now defunct sex shops run by the little old grannies... those were a hoot!
