Great to hear about the cake. Question? When it states "large mug" - just how large?

Question?
Is there another site that I could share the recipe? I thought about Forum, but somehow it didn't feel right to put it there.

SO happy for you Carol! Please get all the hugs and kisses you can keep in your heart. Aniti - thank you for the information. Sorry to hear that you have a Spring cold. No Fun. Do you like honey? Try this: 1 teaspoon of lemon, followed by 1 teaspoon of honey - then I would have a cool glass of water - for my taste buds. ( lemon - quick shot of Vitamin C and the honey is an ancient healer, besides a wonderful gift from the bees.) My mother-n-law would give my husband 2 aspirim and a shot of tequila - it worked! And my dad - a severe diabetic - take a shot of Jack Daniels Black Label #7. He HAD to take this, It was ordered by his Mayo Clinic doctor - it helped his circulation in his legs and helped with the pain too. He swore by it as a all around good medicine. But if you don't widh to try our fmaily cure alls - you just might have to give in and see the doctor. Good luck and feel better soon is my wish Terry PS If this turns up on the site twice, sorry about that. I was checking something and my message dissappeared - so I re-did it.

Have a wonderful trip, Carol. What part of Japan?

Terry, the page four is in the service record, not the contract. Although now that I think of it, page four is training records, page two is dependents and record of emergency data. I missed that, sorry, a little off today, I am really sick. I've looked at so many page fours as an LPO I am surprised I goofed. Anyone want to take my cold away?

The contract becomes page one (several ones, in fact) of their service record.

Hi,
I received this recipe from my cousin. I thought it was funny and inviting. No - I have not tried it yet - but I did want to share.

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

4 tablespoons - Flour
4 tablespoons - Sugar
2 tablespoons -Cocoa
1 - egg
3 tablespoons - Milk
3 tablespoons - Oil
3 tablespoons - Chocolate Chips (optional)
A small splash of Vanilla Extract
1 large Mug ( microwave safe)

Add dry ingredients to mug ( and mix well). Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in milk and oil and mix well. Add chocolate chips ( if using the chips ) and vanilla extract - mix well again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed. Allow to cool alittle and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT !
(This can serve two if you want to feel slightly more virtuous ) And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world ? Answer:
Because, now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake any time of the day or night ! Enjoy Terry

Hi ,
What is the statment on Page 4 of the contract?

Kathleen, he can travel to and from the US on official leave from Japan with just the ID card. Leave is like orders, being official papers and all that. He simply cannot fly anywhere else, the civilian passport is a very good idea, less of a hassle in the long run. Sorry, I didn't catch that he was coming back to the US. Silly me, I immediately thought of travel to fun places like Thailand, LOL.

If you look up the Japan visa requirements online, there will be a section on the SOFA, the Status of Forces Agreement. It outlines what a military member requires.

Military/SOFA Travelers: While active-duty U.S. military personnel may enter Japan under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with proper Department of Defense (DOD) identification and travel orders, all SOFA family members, civilian employees and contractors must have a valid passport and, in some cases, a SOFA visa to enter Japan. Active-duty military personnel should obtain a tourist passport prior to leaving the United States to accommodate off-duty travel elsewhere in Asia as obtaining one while in Japan can take several weeks. Personnel whose duties will include official travel should also obtain an Official Passport before coming to Japan to avoid delays of up to two months, as these overseas applications must be referred to a special office in Washington, adding to processing times. DOD travelers should consult the DOD Foreign Clearance Guide, DOD 4500.54 before leaving the United States.

If he wants to travel outside of Japan for personal reasons, he will need the civilian passport. The military passport can only be used in conjunction with official business, i.e. orders, TDY. He can't even go to Mexico or Canada with the military passport unless he has orders to go to those places. In my personal opinion, if he doesn't want a civilian passport, his loss. There's too much world out there to ignore it.

He is flat wrong about the page four ... the page four ONLY works if he is DEAD. If he is simply injured or incapacitated, the page four does nothing.

Although I never had a POA when I was in. Many reasons, most of them foolish and hard-headed.

I don't know of a way to send things directly to the sailors, all the FPO mail goes to the mailroom on the ship. You can use fedex or UPS global, but only if he has an off base address where it can be sent. Does he know and trust anyone living off base?

Kim, ships at sea have internet access at times.
