CHERYL-TEDS MOM9- Hi and happy Labor Day, well how my son described he said when you first walk in you walk into like a kitchen and a bathroom off to the right or left. That's it what they share and then each sailor has their own key to get into their own personal area. In other words I'm assuming the living room and bedroom is their private area and no one can enter. I guess they get something more private once they get higher in rank. I don't know but Good luck

T-Lynn- You and so many others have convinced me to stay. This is where I turned my tears to strength. I will never forget that!! My son will be training in Mississippi for the EOD. I wish it was SD.That is only 8 hour drive from me. The training will be one month from what I understand. Where will your son be stationed at after his training?

HI

 Happy Labor Day all !

And is everyone doing their Happy Dance for a SAILOR coming home !!!!!! ?

Remember  a Navy Mom - especially a Navy Pan Mom - gets the first hug ! Shove anyone out of the way - it is allowed.  You said he had EOD weapons training in SD, Californai? That is where my sailor is stationed now - in EOD /Armory . My sailor was just talking about some trainings that took place. Maybe our sailors met :). And - NO - you cannot leave this site - you are stuck with us :).

Oh - if only I knew how to can. My mouth is watering Blondie. Espeically that Hot Pepper Jam. Never had it - so is it spicey sweet or a hot sweet taste?

Maggs- awesome photos. I hope you have sent some of these photos to Nature Magazines - you are so talented. I am sharing your photos with my sailor - he loves nature. And if you remember He sent a pic of a mantis that was on board his ship. I know I did post that pic too.

Grand son now has 2 teeth. And he is still chewing up a storm, I get the feeling now the uppers are coming in. I need to go to fb page to get more photos to share.

Kids here are doing fine - getting ready for a cook out today. I made deviled eggs adn hubby cut up the melons. And will be cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs.

AS for right now - I have Me Time - so I got on for a gossip fix and to share.

I am so happy - I have my Halloween decor up.    Love it and later this month will get teh dead flamingos out. Still need more tombstones for them. Then i can't wait to get pumpkins!!!! Plus, apple picking time - so that means fresh baked apple pies. ( just felt my pants get tighter)

I wish I took notes, I loved all teh gossip that was shared.

Need to slit - Laundry Fairy came for a visit too.

Wish all  a great day hugs

Good morning ladies, finally catching up on your dish'n.

Great news Momplus2 ! Agree with Blondie & Maggs. I am still a Pensacola Mom, sailor going to Guam will just let you meet new friends.

Question - sailor is in Yokosuka and finally is being allowed to get an apartment but he is not having much luck. Per him Century21 is the worst. Does anyone have any suggstions on how he should proceed? DREW7062  you mentioned that your sailor has his own place, any ideas ?

Keep the baby pics coming. Longing to having little ones back in my life but I want my boys well settled before the grandbabies come. They are not there yet. Luckily I have my little kid fix a few Labor Day parties this weekend.

Keep the news com'n. Happy Labor Day.

Mamabear: boy do I know how you feel. What a roller coaster ride, first bootcamp then A school in San Antonio now Yokosuka. That's my ride with my son.. He came home after A school and stayed with us for 2 1/2 weeks and then Seattle Washington and then the 13 hour flight to Yokosuka, it's an Airforce jet they take. I went to the airport with my son and with him being in the military they gave us a gate pass so we can go to the plane with him.... I took a pic of him boarding the plane and we were all standing there crying, me and another lady just hugged and walked away I didn't even know who she was lol. But once he got there to Japan he emAiled me, because they can still use their cell phone to emIl with no charge. But I turned his phone off but he can still use it. He emailed me ever couple hours lol. Most times he emailed me between the hours of 6 and 12 because they are 13 hours ahead of us. He finally purchased a phone with an international SIM card I pay 40 bucks a month and he can call anytime anyday for free. And we FaceTime. I thought my son was going for 3 years but he cLled me and said something. Hanged and it's now 2 years yippppppeee. YAyyyyyyy. I'm glad he likes it everyone says it's great there. He has a roommate but he has his own living space they only share a bathroom and kitchen, everything else he has his own entry to his own apartment. He says they have had briefs and tours for 2 weeks and he should start working in the hospital soon. I know you're sad and so was I until I found out he having much fun and everyone is nice I feel much better. And I'm sending for him to come home for Xmas for 2 weeks I'm going to send for him to come home every 4 months I couldn't imagine going 2 years without seeing my baby. But hang in there mama bear let's keep in touch.
Good luck
Drew

Good evening everyone! So today has been very hard as I left my baby girl at the airport. She will be in Seattle WA for 10 days then to Japan. I was hoping this day would not get here this fast. I wanted to hold her longer. I am very sad to see her go so far away and for 3 years to Yokosuka but excited for her and all the new experiences she will come across! God willing we can visit her someday.

DREW7062 Thanks so much..I can feel your excitement for me. My son was able to come back for one week for a weapon class in San Diego. I drove down ...9 hours....but was so worth it to see him for a couple of days. He liked Yokosuka but couldn't find cloths that fit well. From what I understand ...if he wants to take a leave it will cost about $1800. for a ticket. We live in the Sacramento area. Blondie..you are too funny. That is what I love about this group. I don't chime in a lot but it sure is entertaining. You Ladies keep me laughing. That is exactly what I need being a single empty nester! Thanks to all...enjoy your long weekend ladies.
