HI

But you are going to DC !!!!! Think of all the fun !!!! Getting hugs form your daughter will melt any amount of snow. share a hug from us please. Glad you are feeling better.

Cold here too, but oh - is that sun shining! Adn I know Spring is about - I have so many Easter Bunny tracks in the backyard. Must be the Easter Egg convention.

Sorry, don't know about Jungle Training. Maybe Kim or Anti M does.

By the way - ladies - check in please.

I have finished 5 of the 13 beaded patches. The scout patches are thank you gifts for the person who HELPED me at the banquet.  Now packing stuff for tomorrow activities.

Wish all a great day  hugs

Finally adjusting to the time difference between Japan and Virginia.  Luckily I am able to talk to my sailor almost every day.  He will be going to Jungle Warfare training next week.  Anyone know what is involved with that?

Part 3 - If the new moms are wondering why I have separated is that once I wrote so much, that I could would not ADD Comment. I had to delete part of it and retype what I deleted.

Hi Halfpint. I have been looking over your questions. My values - being honest with myself. Knowing when I need help to get through something. My norm - gossiping :). Share it - get input from those you trust and enjoy. And support - well - I know mostly that usually means from ones family first and then friends.  But you have come to a place that is so special. You are now a member of the Navy Moms - especially the Pan Moms. We don't call ourselves the Japan Moms. One of sisters had a young grandson that could not say Japan - he would say Pan. So we adopted it.

Here we come - afraid at first because our hearts are aching so hard that we think we are going to break apart. But know we can't - because our sailor might see this and then feel guilty for leaving. Plus - we know nothing about where - what they need or how to reach them. Or how can they reach us if they need us. Then we find navy moms and finally our ships ( Japan Moms) Just by reading others' message you can find your voice to say your feelings - with no fear of being told - "Your just being silly, it just like them going to college" - you find answers to questions - find ways to get help to your sailor or even to get them a birthday cake for them, even if they are on their ship.

By sharing as we do - we have become more than friends - we are family. some of us have been so lucky to meet and have shared hugs. But even if can't hug for real, we come - share our words and send (feel) hugs,  send prayers or positive thoughts - healing energy to each other. Just saying - I need - there IS always a help.

All I can say is for you to keep jumping into the water ( share ) and one day very soon - you will feel part of  the sisters here. I have been here for for at least 5 years. Its been great and I have not plans on leaving here. we have another saying - once a Pan Mom - always  a Pan Mom.

Hugs half pint and welcome aboard :)

Part 2 -

On my birthday  I was surprised with my cub scouts singing to me , came home to baby Riker needding his grandma to hold him and dinner made for me and a chocolate cake! Then to top the day - a phone call form my sailor :). Yesterday I was on the phone for an hour with a dear friend and recieved birthday cards with lotto scratch off tickets. ( No winners) Today a fellow scouter took me out for a shrimp dinner and I had a ride in his Cadilac! Classy . Finally the birthday from sailor arrived with 7 scratch off tickets - I won $20 !!!
Will have to wait to see what teh next four days bring. But still celebrating.

Will have some great gossip to share. I mentioned I have to do another event this Saturday. Well, Grandpa has to babysit. HIS first time to do so alone! Oh will I share details.

HI  I made it back.

I think I fell off the edge of the earth. I have been climbing back for days to get here too. Thankfully I had some girl scout cookies to give me energy and next time I will remember to buckle my safety line.

Yippe Blondie- stand your ground with your boss. And Blondie I might be busy, but there is no way I could ever keep the pace you do. You are awesome. I can just see Jack with those snow clumps all over him and them coming inside.

Doing teh Navy Mom Happy Dance - sailor is coming home in May. I agree - have him look at different airlines and book early.

I see we have new moms too- luv it that you l have jumped into the water. That means to share about yourself and sailor or good gossip :).

So Angel is alone. And she is pretending to be sad. wonder what she is up too. So did the wine help to relax Maggs?

Barb has your daughter been able to get the arbor fix yet? sorry that happened, but very glad she was ok.

would you believe I am STILL doing paper work and now another scout event? Honest I thought it would ease up. But no. Last Saturday was the blue and gold banquet for cub scouts. It went VERY well. Teh boy scouts there ran every experiment and the cub scouts had a blast. I lead a song and it is on fb. Just have to find a way to get it here. And my fellow staffer got my best side through the entire song.  Well, I do look good - lost weight :).

But oldest son has an event with his radio station this Saturday. Turns out the lady who created it called the Boy Scout office asking for some boy scouts to run a booth. Problem is - this lady wanted event for younger ages kids. You know like cub scout ages. My son had to explain that what she wanted was CUB scout leaders NOT boy scouts. So I will be attending this to help him out and my council Luckily I can take the experiments - some games and crafts.  I think I will bring the stomp rocket game. That will get attention.

There are two more Pine wood Derby races to attend and two meetings and one club dinner. - THEN I can rest.

I had a great birthday  - I turned 60 on Monday and I am doing what my Aunt Alice said to do - celebrate for 7 days !

We've actually have had 4 straight days of sunshine. Amazing. Of course Sun. it was 40 degrees; Monday - Tues -1 to 15 degrees and Today it was 40 degrees. Snow banks are still 3-6 feet. Only in New England!

Hey all-don't have lots of time at the moment, but figured I'd pop in-
Brrrr Maggs-hang in there, March is next week-it's gotta start warming up soon!  First time I actually feel warm In my house! The sun is shining really bright & we are in the teens!  heat wave, ha ha.
Everything safe and sound here, unlike daughter who came home to a mess on her back patio-the wood arbor collapsed under all the weight of the ice and snow! And their patio table, grill, all were in the line of fire.  Big mess, but no one was hurt, so they can deal with it:)

halfpintl-I would def say that support systems such as this page, make All the difference in the world!  No one else quite understands unless they too are going through, or have gone through what you are dealing with!

American phones don't work in Japan- make sure his phone gets put on military hold. That way he can reactivate when he has leave or comes back stateside.  His/her buddies ought to be able to steer them in the right direction as to what to get over there.  We mostly texted or Skyped when possible-both were free.

Lisa-all I know is the sooner they can book, the cheaper the fares-check directly with airlines & ask for military discounts- gl! yay for homecoming:))!

Hope everyone is ok out there!  Kinda not a lot of activity for this page.....
