Blondie, sorry for your loss.  Will be praying for you and all of your family.

I love the dress!  Your daughter will be such a beautiful bride in whatever she wears.

Peachy, this group will be more help than you can ever imagine. It just helps to know that someone has been where you are and can offer you some encouragement.   Hang in there, girl!

Anti M thank you so much for the information about our sailors during typhoons on the base. I agree with all of you whole heartedly about the air man and the other missing personnel families my heart really goes out to them all.

Thank goodness for this group. You don't know how much just this helps. :-)

Anti M, I totally agree! That is really low. We had a couple that came by and made a purchase and got half way out our drive when they realized they didn't pay us. They each thought the other had paid. They backed up and both of them got out and apologized. We didn't think anything about it. We all got talked after they left and we had all thought they had paid one of us. We did tell them that we appreciated their honesty.

Wow, Trash to Treasures sounds like fun... for shopping! The few times I have had a garage sale, people STOLE from me.  I was asking very little for anything, and would have given things away of someone had said they were in need.  Why steal?  Some people.

Good afternoon, Ladies!

T-Lynn, my heart is breaking also.  Praying for this situation, the families and for all of those close to them.  Thanks for the candle to remind us.

Blondie, sounds like you are full steam ahead in the "wedding stuff".   I know y'all will have fun making all of the plans.

I have been keeping up, but have been busy.  In September I had 4 birthdays, my brother, my son, my mom, and my daughter.  We have had lots of parties!  I think I worry my neighbors.  We went to Starkville for our daughter's.  She is so busy this semester that she didn't think she would have time to come home.  We went to see her, she opened presents, we carried her and one of room mates to lunch, came back to their apt. and had cake, then we headed home. She had so much homework and a big test to study for, so we didn't stay too long.  It takes about 2 hours for us to drive, so that really worked out well for us, too.  She was thrilled that her brother came to see her.  His wife was working, so he decided to ride with us.  It was so good to have them both together again, and surprisingly they didn't fuss and argue!

This past weekend,  my son and I had a yard sale.  This is not something that I really enjoy, but he wanted to have one.  We have what they call Trash to Treasures.  The yard sales start at the Tennessee/Mississippi State Line and run down Highway 25 to the Alabama State Line in South Mississippi.  We have never been outside of our town, but we have people that set all up and down the highway.  Not just locals, but we have them coming into town in their travel trailers pulling trailers that are loaded with stuff to sell.   It is a mad house to try to drive,  but we sure did well with our yard sale, thanks to this big crowd.  My son is so excited he is ready to start gathering up for next year.  I am not so sure about that!  It takes a lot of hard work to have a yard sale.  He worked it Friday and my brother-in-law stayed with him to help him during the really busy times.  I had to work, but went home on my lunch break to check on them, and then helped them when I got off.   Hubby helped me on Saturday until my son got there, and I told them if I had no customers at 2:00, I was packing it up.  I wanted to watch Ole Miss play Alabama. (We won)!    I got it boxed up and everything taken down in 20 minutes!  I was really happy to get rid of the stuff that I did, and Hubby was even more happy.  He told me I should have put out twice as much stuff as I did.  I told him I would have,  if I would have had the time to gather it all up and get it priced.

Nothing else exciting going on in my life, and that is fine!  Oh, I did meet a personal goal of mine.  I had challenged myself to run/walk 75 miles in the month of Sept.   I made it on the last day!  I need to keep it up, but it is so late now before it gets daylight, and then is getting dark earlier in the afternoon, that I am not going to be able to run outside much longer.

Gotta get back to work.  Hope you all are having a great day!

Let's all keep the ones in Japan in our thoughts and prayers.

I was looking for this picture. It is our blue candle. My heart felt sorrow for the AF airman lost and the Marine lost in the Persian Gulf.  Sending out gentle hugs to their family and friends. Crossing fingers - positive thoughts that the two missing AF are found safe and sound.  Please join me in these thoughts and hopes.

Typhoons usually mean work for a lot of the sailors... the ships often go out to sea if it looks like the typhoon will pass directly over, and if they are shore duty and "essential", they get to stay at work until the all clear sounds.  Everyone else stays home and has typhoon parties.   Bases are usually very safe havens, and families living offbase are often encouraged to go to the base gym/schools for shelter if the storm is a big one.

Unfortunately, we did lose an AF airman, and two AF personnel are missing from Okinawa.  They were on the beach, taking pictures.  My heart goes out to their families.
