DramaSoul, My sailor is stationed in Rhode Island.  He works in Newport and lives in Cranston (about 10 minutes from the airport).  Enjoy your time.

Blondie, make sure to raise a glass of wine and toast all of us.  I hope your weekend is a go.

TLynn, Glad to hear you are healing.  We are doing PT at the same time.  After almost 9 weeks of no weight on my right foot, I am starting to walk.  I have to be in a walking boot and I need the crutches.

T-Lynn, glad to hear your progressing positively.  4o years!  Your soft tissue has a lot to unlearn!  Sounds like you're doing a Great job rehabbing, stick with it, you know it's worth it.

DramaSoul, What a Wonderful present!  Praying for safe travels and lots of Fun!

I actually got a lunch break today.... Got a phone call my Oldest Brother was taken by ambulance to Columbus for Emergency Surgery on his neck. He's been having neck pain, I suggested x-rays, then they gave him steroids and sent him home. This morning he couldn't walk or lift his head up. His wife took him to the ER, they did a MRI, slapped a neck brace on him and sent him off. They said they didn't know why he wasn't paralyzed. He called both my other brothers and then tried me of course I was at work and my personal phone turned off. So he called my Husband, who called me at lunch time.  He said Bud was in good spirits, has been through lots of surgeries and wasn't scarred. But Hubby said he only choked up when he talked about not getting to talk to me. I ask why didn't you give him the office phone number and he said I didn't think either of you needed that. He was gonna call my sister next OR maybe her husband he wasn't sure.  My Dad won't know until he comes out of surgery. So here I sit at work,  Trying not to worry.  God has a plan. I agree with DramaSoul we need to be more Grateful .

Thanks for listening.

I am here! Not posting but reading posts.
My Corpsman and his family are doing really well. Not sure if I posted but I now have TWO grandchildren.  Max is about to be 3 and Ellen (also known as Ellie Bean or Ellie Belly) is 9 months and trying to keep up with big bro. I got to see them in April and, miracle of miracles, I am leaving Friday to go spend 10 days with them.
Actually the miracle was a gift from the periodontist with whom I have worked for 25 years. He asked me how I wanted to celebrate 25 years and I told him I wanted to see my grandchildren again. Sooo…he got me a First Class round trip ticket! At least getting from Oregon to Rhode Island will be with lotsa legroom.
I am still working ‘cause I still love it and love taking continuing education.  And…my cats would not like it if I were home every day.
I haven’t done any theater since before Covid.
i have had a wonderful reconnection with my daughter. With all of the uncertainty and strife in the world, I am focusing on gratitude. So grateful for my family and family of friends.

HI All,

Blondie! You made my gossip tank run over - Thank you

AS usually the energizer bunny is hiding in shame.  But I can just smell the apple sauce and pies ! Yuumy. Sorry to hear about your SIL but glad to hear that family came to help and she is healing.  ANd there are at least some interest in the job to help decrease your hours !!!

You Bet fellow Pan Mom - sending what  positive vibes and crossing what I can so the job and your Anniversary weekend is a GO !. Happy Anniversary wishes early.

Me - recovering nicely from right knee replacement.  Knee joint does not have must pain BUT all the muscles around it - OUCH. Those muscles are relearning to be in the correct placement and how to work correctly - all over.  for over 40 years they have been doing it wrong.  So I tire easily.  But PT therapist states I am ahead of my game again.  So I will do what I can to heal.

Sorry at my limit now.  Hugs to all and hope you all are having fun Autumn Weekends.

Hugs

Busy as always. SIL fell while we were in Columbus, she was watching our dogs. I got on the phone and reached out to family, they came through. BIL went to the house late friday dogs wouldn't get close to him, he had a key and got in, I said feed them, sure enough they went in the house. He couldn't get close enuff to touch them so they wore their electric collars all night.  My niece went out sat. morning before work and fed and let them out then napped with them between jobs and went back and basicly moved in with them. SIL broke her nose and hand. But is healing nicely she's 74.

Our son has plumbing issues can't use their shower....hubby talked him through a batch , we're heading there this weekend to fix it.  Next weekend is "our" get-away" for our anniversary. We rented a cabin at the great lakes with my SIL (her birthday) and BIL. Crossing my fingers and toes!  I NEED this, Wineries are scheduled.  :)

Still canning tomatoes, apples, grape juice.... This is probably the end cause we're having frost already. Its okay I'm done with gardening!  Need to mow once more (between rain storms) .

Work is work and always busy. Still no interviews, I'm thinking she gave up because of the 2 part time helpers. But they say they will work but then call off.  :( I'm not happy,

Gotta run, I have 3 practitioners in today!

Another BUSY weekend here!  Sat. did 5 loads of laundry and hung out to dry, canned stewed tomatoes. then mowed the yard and yes we had to pick up grass, like bailing hay!  Missed Church so we cooked out and had a bon-fire (beer & wine included) then neighbor called her apple trees were loaded and she wanted to she. Not tonight!   So Sunday after Church and lunch we went apple picking (again)  Came home and did 2 batches of applesauce, took the last batch out at 10:15 pm.  So last night after working 10 hours and getting supper,  and the kitchen in order, I did baked apples, a apple cobbler and made 3 apple pies And there's still apples waiting to be done up! Tonight is another night. Tomorrow I only work a half day because I have my 6 months check up with my PC and Friday is a half day because Office will be closed. So, I'll have plenty of time to mow and garden, still making pesto too. Yum!  Then Sat. we're taking my oldest Brother and his wife and my only Sister and her hubby to a winery who's having a concert Celebrating the Eagles music (can't wait!!)

Boss actually put an add out there for part-time help, we've had 9 hits. most don't want to work the weekends or nights But a few are coming in for an interview.  My only problem is getting the Doctor on board with someone young and who wants to stick around and increase their hours as I decrease mine. Not just someone to fill in.  Positive thoughts would be appreciated.  Gotta run, pts.  need help!

Part 2

Yes , me too. Doctor made take the Covid and Flu tests - both negative - just allergies.  ( I have a bumper crop of Golden rod in the back 40 that wave to me every morning) so now on an antibiotic until I see the doctor Thursday.  then we will have one weekend off - the adult kids and kids are going on a Cub Scout Pack Family Camping. I can rest some.

I am happy to say I did get some task totally done.  Now finishing small ones - except for the beads.  I HAVE to get them all in new containers so I can find them. Most are in those amber colored medicine bottles and seeing the colors I need - not working.  but to go through the 4 drawers - and tow boxes and one tube given to me of BEADS - that will be a week.  But I will not be going any where for a month - so perfect.

Last Saturday teh 16th was my cousin's birthday. We all went out to Medieval Times. First time for Riker and Emma. Both had a fantastic time - after the ear plugs were put in and they ate the food - They got to eat with their fingers and no one complained.  And Emma got to  yell loud and no one complained. She wore her Princess dress.  Naturally - she HAD to have a Princess hot with a tiara and a light up unicorn. Riker didn't want anything this time - but he saw the REAL looking swords - next time. both dropped like rocks to sleep when we got home.

Well Laundry Fairy calling.  Take care all hugs

HI

Kim and Blondie so good to hear from you both. Now if only Miss and Drama  would show up - my gossip tank would be full.  that's a hint Pan Moms - Roll CALL and check in.

Blondie - I so need to find a t-shirt for you and says: " I make the Energizer Bunny look Lazy"  But good to see you did have some fun weekends.   Try to squeeze a Fun Weekend with Hubby, you both deserve it. And we know you too have these strange accidents. SO be careful !!! And please send updates about your daughter.  So hope healing is going well.  Sending positive vibes to her. And a shield of protection around you !

Kim Kim Kim. Now I know why I was thinking about you. I was riding in the car with my hubby and I said out loud: " I feel Kim'"   Hadn't clue why - but now I know. Well you know the routine here:  paint your toenails - I suggest Flaming Jamaica Flamingo Pink. And then wrap with black electrical tape. You should be back on that bike in a week.  And does anyone else see her on that couch?  At one end is a sign above it saying - " Don't bother me - At Work"  then the other end - " LEAVE ME ALONE - I am on BREAK!"   Now if you sit in the middle - ?  Just take care and share when you plan on being on a retirement trip. That's the only way we all will know you are relaxing!

Yes, October 2nd - sorry typed the wrong date - is approaching fast.. It was suppose to have been on July 3rd, but things change. That month would have been perfect - no weekend plans. Now - every weekend until Thanksgiving.  Trying now to finalize some home task, but having to babysit more and Cub Scout Events to help with - plus the biggy - Emma just has to bring something home from Day Care and share it with everyone - except Papa!

T-Lynn, Glad hubby is doing better. Hope you're feeling better too!

Kim, what can I say.... there was a time here where there were multiple foot injuries, lets hope you didn't start something!   Sounds like a good thing you're working part-time from home.  I LOVE the fact that you change ends of the couch . Have to separate our work life from our home life.  Hahaha  Sounds painful tho. hope it gets better day by day.  we were watching the man hunt and Praying here.

My life is as always too Busy!  My oldest daughter (with 2 miracle babies) had to under go emergency surgery.  I'd been telling her the last 2 years something was wrong go to the Doctor!  And I don't often say that.  Luckily she only lives an hour and a half from me. My car and body has a lot of miles and stress on it.  She is healing now I only hope she's telling me the truth, this will be the 1st weekend I won't be going down. I keep telling the Doctor to hire someone else!  Add to that it's harvest season, 2 Church festivals that we're involved in, the Summer is passing us by! Fall is here and moving faster then I can keep up! Before all this happened, We were enjoying our summer.  Doing a LOT of wine tours some with my Sister/BIL and some with my Brother/SIL, We did a wine festival with our Son and DIL, Even di 1 with just Hubby and me :)  Planned a few other trips we had to cancel but that's alright my Daughter and her Family needed us!  Now we have 1 outing a Month on the books.  November's is a trip to Texas!  :)

Work just got crazy, HUGS to all

Hi All,

T, October 3rd on my calendar to say a prayer for good luck.  I am so happy to hear the good news about your husband.  I love the story.

I retired July 31st.  Then they talked me into helping out to cover some upcoming projects. They gave me an up front bonus and a big raise to work 16 hours a week from home.  I figured I would try it out for a while.  The first week I was trying out my new e-bike.  I was on manual at walking speed turning around.  At the last second I realized that I wasn't going to clear the curb and forgot I had hand brakes.  My right foot tried to break and it caught caught between the curb and pedal.  My ballet teacher would be so proud of my pointed toe.  I broke 7 bones and tore 3 Lisfranc ligaments. (mid foot structure) I am 5 weeks into 8 weeks of no weight.  I have a cool knee scooter to get around.  My office is at one end of the coach and I sleep at the other end.  Have I ever mentioned that I am a klutz?

Also, they caught the escaped prisoner in Pennsylvania.  He was 2 miles from my house over the weekend.  The news kept saying he was from my town.  They caught him 7 miles from here.  WHEW!

Check in everyone.
