Is C school mandatory, or can you turn it down? My son is in A school now in San Antonio I don't think he's going to C school

@Drew ....  is he going to a ship?  They all have websites to check into.  He should request a sponsor, the ship site should have that info.  He can also order a Welcome Aboard packet.

If he goes to a ship, he will live aboard it initially.  They can earn privileges to live in the Live Ashore barracks, which are quite nice, more like suites.

I always recommend a civilian passport, just in case they want to travel.  While their ID card and orders get them in and out of Japan, and that includes leave papers, other countries do not recognize it.  If he is going to a ship, he will miss out on some liberty opportunities, and if there is an emergency, he needs to be able to travel outside the military system.

Mine is an Electroneurodiagnostic Tech.  He graduates C School on the 5th, and we are gathering all the info he needs as well, just like buying a house, lol.  We will have to connect up!

My son is a surgical tech Corpsman.  Do you know what your sons specialty is?

He was home on leave between school for two weeks between C school and Yokosuka.  Loves it there.

My son will be heading to Yokosuka as well, Medical corpsman, graduating C School in August, he is not sure how long he will come home before heading there, but we are really excited and so glad to learn from this group.

I pick my sailor up from the airport in a couple hours so I can ask him your questions.  He is stationed in Yokusuka.  Can't wait to see him, it's been almost a year.

Hi all;

Hope everyone is having a great summer.  My two oldest grandkids are coming to spend a long weekend with me...I'm so excited, this will be the first time since their adoptions that they get to come and stay with me.  These are my daughter's oldest children.

Kitty status--Baxter has not returned, but I've sort of been a adopted by a little orange tabby.  He showed up last week, hungry and skinny.  He wanders in and out of the house several times a day.  He won't spend the night in the house, but does seem enjoy our company.  We have been calling him, "OhGee".  He looks to be between 6 months and a year old.

I heard from my sailor on Tuesday.  It was good to chat with him.  He underway in the middle of the ocean.  He does enjoy the sea life.  I will hopefully see my son in early 2016 here.

Well have to scoot, everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend.

Anti m: my son is an E1 just getting out of A school in San Antonio Texas going to Yokosuka Japan can you tell me anything about that. Thanks

The housing office will assist him with a rental; there is a class to take because it is done quite differently there than here. OHA is pretty generous.
