Welcome new moms. My sailor left Atsugi in August, and yes, misses the culture and the people. He loved Japan.
I am bummed out. Sailor and wife were supposed to come up for a few days. Got a call today that they had some unexpected car repairs and now will not be coming:(
Was really looking forward to their visit.
T-Lynn--
So sorry about you older cat, I totally understand what you are going through, lost our Bo-Boy almost a year ago. Many, Many hugs for you.
HI
Welcome Aboard new moms :).
I hope the new sailors there packed long johns! If not - send some. Sometimes the NEX runs out and Japan stores sizes DO NOT match our sizes at all. Also, make sure your sailors have their passports - not JUST military ones Yes it is needed. And very happy to hear how fast the box got him.
So no baby yet - Grandma Kim to Be. And I like the advice the neighbors to contact the fire department.
Skiing. How come you are not skiing with him joshmom?
OH Blondie sweet picture. I think it was nice of the little guy's Godfather to have the same hair cut too. Please keep us posted about Jack.
Maggs - is that Angel or the kitten Scooby? And if it is not Angel, know she has to up one on that kitten. How are things going?
Well, sailor is enjoying being home. He keeps saying how big it is and now will say - home. Funny thing - no one took any pictures as we opened gifts. Never did that before.
Ok - tissue alert.
We are now a home of only 2 cats - puppy and a turtle.
On Christmas evening we found our black cat - Lightning dead in his bed. Not sure when he passed. Late Christmas Eve or very early Christmas morning. He looked his usually self and some days would just sleep longer. We all feel lost and can't understand why we did not check or call him. Even the other cats adn puppy were not acting out of normal.
Its been very hard on dil - she had him since he was a very small kitten. We will be receiving his ashes in about 2 weeks. Sorry - I did not mean to upset or ruin anyone's moment here. I just wanted to share. Get a few hugs too.
Need to split - dil would like to decorate the baby's room.
talk soon all hugs
This is the beginning of my son's 2nd tour in Japan...he loves it there so much. First 3 years he was in Yokosuko. This one in Atsugi, and he is assigned to a squadron of planes, has to go out with the George Washington twice a year for 3 month tours, otherwise will be on land. He has been skiing over there his past years and doing numerous things. It is such a pretty country with rich culture and polite, hospitable people.
My Japan sailor just came back from Atsugi.
Hi all;
Merry Christmas, and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I spent Christmas traveling to my friend's son house about 200 miles from here I didn't get to see my daughter and grandkids, maybe for new year. My sailor will be home for a few days after the 1st of the year.
He got his Christmas box about two weeks after I sent it. I hope that time fame will continue for him.
He got me a kitten before he went to Japan, and Baxter (the kitten) is fun to watch, and he sits on my chest when I'm on the computer, and he purrs. Listening to Baxter is very relaxing.

My son just went to Asugi last Sunday.
Merry Christmas. I hope everyone hears from their sailors.
No baby yet. It is beautiful here but that is a steep hill to get up to the house. I went walking this morning, met some neighbors and they suggested that he go to the firehouse tomorrow and let them know their situation of being alone and baby due. Weather is getting worse next week and they expect ice. I don't see them getting down that hill in an ice storm.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
So happy for those of you that have your sailors home, give 'em extra hugs! Mine is on a snowboarding/skiing trip. I'm just happy he's spending Christmas doing something he loves.
I vote Plan B! Nothing better than a new baby for Christmas!
Enjoy the holiday ladies and many blessings to you all and your families! {{{{{HUGS}}}} for everyone!
