So, how is everyone?  Seems everyone and his brother around here have stomach flu, colds, fevers, you name it.  Was sick myself just when I thought I'd get caught up for Christmas. Oh well, what's the holiday season without a little rushing around and stress!?  The tree is up, waiting to be decorated, still have to shop and bake, company clean .....daughter offered to have our Christmas Eve dinner, that helps.

Thanks for the hugs and support-that is what makes this group special:)

Mtnmom-congrats on the new official grandbaby!

Blondie, Wreaths across America looks very special and beautiful. Love the family picture. I love the wedding outfit and it looks nicer in the grape!

TLynn, OMG-glad you are better! That must have been scary.

AntiM-homemade dog biscuits sounds cool.
No white Christmas around here either-Lots of rain and mud.

And, a couple funnies to relieve holiday stress:

HI

Sorry you did not make it Maggs. Hope something else came up that was even better for you.

Anti M - Now I can find that email. But if I do , I will share the information.

We have rain here too. So different - we have snow in December - REGULARLY. I am looking out the window - seeing green grass - growing. I am beginning to wonder if hubby will have to mow soon. If he does -that will be a first for us here.

EVeryone ready for Christmas? Not here. Always seems like there is something that just stalls.

Need to split - scouts stuff I HAVE ti get done.

hugs

T, I did not get the email, but I do not that if a sailor in the fleet fails three PTs in a row (six months apart, s over a year and a half), they are out.  In boot camp, they send them to FIT to work on it, and after 3 failures, they are gone.  There is no appeal.  Of course, if they are injured, they get a retake later, but that only goes so far.

Finally getting some rain here, but it has been too warm, the plants are confused, and we need snow.  No snow now means a drought next summer.

I have been cleaning, painting, and baking.  I made dog biscuits for the whole neighborhood, that was a big hit!  Pumpkin peanut butter, I almost ate them myself!

Hey I got a email alert message from navy moms. - somethig about a sailor having a discharge because of failing 3 pts? Anyone else get it?. the mom is asking for advice.

Doing better - it was thought I had a blood clot in my right leg - but no - YIPPEE! I have severe arthritis in teh bones around my right knee. I have no cartilage in that knee - so now walking and etc really hurts. But I got some pain killers that really work - well. And the swelling is going done. Hope to see an orthro doc next week. Maybe a knee?  Fingers crossed I still have some warranty left. hahaha

talk later hugs all

Maggs, I am a last minute decision.  I have been sick with a sinus infection.  At least I hope that is what it is.  The headaches have been devastating.  I really want to go. Is there a plan to meet?

Hi All--

I'm in Southern California again. My daughter and her husband adopted their fourth child today.  He is ours forever. Its been a long 10 plus months.

Josh'sMom--When my son left for Japan last month, I was a basket, (and still am occasionally) case for days.  May have been easier if he hadn't had over 3 weeks home.  That was longest he's been home since he went into the Navy, over 5 years ago.

I have had a couple of phone calls on weekends, and several emails.  I feel much more at ease now that I know he's able to communicate and I can occasionally hear his voice.

Hello ladies.  I've been busy lately and haven't even started my Christmas shopping!  I did get sailor's done and mailed off two packages last Friday.  He's already got them....2 days ago! I've never had packages get there that quick.  He shared one of his containers of homemade cookies with his shop and says they were gone in 10 minutes.  I got an email and they all thanked me and apparently they must have really like them because the word "awesome" was mentioned 3 times! Made me feel good so now I'm gonna have to send more.

Well 2 years ago today I watched my sailor board a plane headed for Japan.  I bawled my eyes out that day because I knew it would be a long time before I seen him again and even though he's only been home once these past 24 months I'm so proud of the life he's chosen.  He has matured so much and he's always so cheerful when he calls.  I'm amazed at the places he's been and things he's done.  When not on deployment he calls me every week so that has made it much easier on me and hopefully he'll be coming home this spring to visit.

So happy for those of you who had your sailors home for Thanksgiving and those that will be home for Christmas.

Barbara - your uncle was obviously a wonderful man.  HUGS

A grandbaby for Christmas...yeah Kim!

Hugs to each and every one of you.  You all are in my thoughts as well as your families!
