Hi Moms. I know I am not on here like at all, I am just not a very social person. I was hoping that you guys might be able to tell me if there is any way that you know of to send a birthday cake to my sailor on the Yokosuka base. Best wishes to all of you and your sailors.

Thanks Blondie for the information

Hit teh send before I was done.

Barb - how special!  I have never heard of that idea of sending out postcards and then reading all the messages for a birthday. And share a hug for his birthday !!!! One redhead  - just one!

Ang. found it in the trash. Oh what memories that brought back. Wait until he learns he can draw on the walls without using a crayon. Use a strawberry instead. such a long lasting picture. LONG lasting too! How I got teh giggles when you shared your mom's thought of"..how long if Mo drives." She was determine to find a way to get him home!  Got to love her.

Still trying to finish up small task. they just never seem to get done.  Hubby is right now in that same storage room - BUT now he is installing electrical outlets. Plus a light to go on the ceiling. Thought it would be a good idea to do that first - before the drywall. I thought so too - note - we did have to take down one dry wall piece. AT least it was just one! He hope for finish today. You know - teh outlets - putting up the rest of the dry wall - mud and tape it and then prime it. Or he might leave out the muddding and taping and just go to priming the walls. Right - let you know.

Today we started out with all of going to a Scout Troop Breakfast fund raiser. Great service and good pancakes and bacon and coffee. Then teh kids decided to go to Edwards Apple Orchard. Great place for fresh apple cider donuts and other stuff .  And we came back with stuff - apple cider, donuts, salad dressing , apple butter, bbq sauces, Halloween decorations and three huge pumpkins. They want to go back again tomorrow. The kids want to go pick their own pumpkin. 3 is not enough.

Well, I need to stop my me time . Better check on hubby. At least he has not fried himself. hugs all

HI All

I decided i so needed me time and I came her :).

Ok, writing on positive thoughts list - Blondie's daughter does not deploy - got it.

Blondie - if you did not have so much to  do in your life - you would be bored. And so would we - we love hearing all you do :).  Wishing Conor a great birthday. Hug him for us.  I like how your daughter sent a box to her sister for help - sweet. And I think you should start looking for a mother of the bride dress. You'll be ahead of the planning. I like the  pub idea .

What a cutie number 66 is, Congrats on his team winning and they do make a cute couple or not a couple but still cute. Let us know.

Drama - you are always a Pan Mom - sorry you are stuck with us. Haha - now share more gossip.

Shelly - sweet pups. Even if they did bring in some rainy dirt.

Cheryl - ditto to what all have shared about clothing. Online or send him some each month. You will find yourself an excellent packer of things too. When you do send clothing - hide small fun stuff in between. Then it is like getting  Cracker Jacks. We sen that too. Some one mentions warm underwear. And I say YES - SEND THOSE LONG JOHNS !!!!!

Talking about underwear - Anti M! You are holding out on us. Where's the pic?   Matching turquois with furry ears and tail! Have to call you Hot Foxy Anti M.

Sorry, I couldn't turn the picture.  It was upright on my computer.  Not sure why this happened!  Oh well, you get the idea

Hi All,

Cheryl, My son told me that he couldn't find clothes to fit him anywhere.  He tried the Nex on base and they were to small too.  We just had to send him things.  We send a package every 3-4 weeks with lots of stuff.  The last one had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-Shirt.  He mentioned in one of his emails that he saw the movie and he liked it.  He was a big fan when he was younger. I joked that I probably still have his old baseball mitt and to not be surprised if it showed up in a box.  I thought the tshirt was a good alternative.  He loved it.  My son didn't mention anything about thermals but he did say that everything is small.  If your sailor is tall or husky, he will probably be out of luck.  I would send something in a package or the online shopping is a good idea if you know what size.  My son started working out so much it's hard to know what size will fit him now.  I haven't had my arms around him in about 9 months.

girlnboots, don't worry and just dive in.  I miss a lot because I get busy.  Its funny how I just run out of time during the day.  And I'm not the energizer bunny like Blondie!!

I'm going to post a couple of funny pictures of my babies.  The pups that is.  It was raining last week and they were in the backyard enjoying themselves.  Dirty dogs is what ended up in the house when they were done.

I was stationed in Yokosuka, the selection is not very good for Americans.  Japanese clothes tend to have shorter arms and legs, and are very expensive.  Been too long since I've been there to suggest stores.  They may not still be around.

I suggest online shopping, many ship to FPO addresses, a few for free. I did catalog shopping when I was there.  Online would be easier.  Choose places with a generous return policy.  Lands End and LL Bean for sure.  If he is geeky and wants tshirts, then Thinkgeek ships to FPO.  Target ships to FPO addresses, as does Amazon.  That is off the top of my head.  Some items cannot be shipped overseas, but most clothes are okay to go to Japan.

Well I had my told you so moment.... My sailor has been there a week & he emailed his brother that he can't buy casual clothes in his size and he only packed 3 changes. Besides CX does any one know of a  store local to the Yokosuka base  that sells casual clothes that fit our boys?

Well...I have learned nothing is etched in stone with the Navy. Corpsman's orders changed.  He will be headed to CL as his next duty station.  Always a surprise and I should get used to it but somehow I am not.  Guess I am not a 'Pan mom but would like to check in with you all on occasion.

And...dropped out of the one-act as I had never in all my years of experience encountered such a lack of organization or professionalism.  Middle School productions are more professional.

Hugs to all of you.
