Does anyone have a SR with a PIR 10/11/13?

Stay at the Residence Inn in Waukegan. It's really nice and they have a shuttle that will take you to PIR and back.

My son has less than 17 months left in the Navy and he will stay in Beaufort for that time. He was supposed to go to Greece in June but they suddenly rescinded his orders last February and left us hanging for three months. Then they just told him to stay put. Okay by me!!

@jae - He's been there a little over two years and I'm getting ready to make my sixth trip down to see him. Usually take 10-12 family members and we all stay at Hilton Head.  This year it will be just four of us though.

We live in Lewis County, but I lived in Barboursville when I was a little girl. My son is an MA. What about your sailor? My son likes SC very much but its not WV.  He also is very close to his brother who is only 15 months younger.

When is your PIR date?

Comment by MountainMama(ship3 div081) on July 15, 2013 at 6:38am

All in all, its been good but there have been ups and downs.  My son is definately a WV boy and he misses home a lot. But he has grown up into a responsible young man.

Wow, basic!  Hardest couple of months of my life!  The lack of communication just about drove me crazy but graduation was fantastic.

Let me know if you have any questions or just need to vent.  I never would have gotten through without my PIR group.  What part of WV are you from?

Yes, my son is currently serving at the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC. How about your sailor?

Keep a box of tissues handy for when you get the call!  Check back and let us know how it goes!
