Wow!  That is great news!  Praying for a happy, healthy grandbaby!  I personally can't wait to be a grandma.

Got a very possitive letter from my SR today . . . well actually two.  They were short as she didn't have much time to write.  Say's she's kicking butt and doing great.  She received several letters and wants more.  Had to have her wisdom teeth pulled but she said it just made her tougher.  Said she's reading her devotions every night with a new friend and going to church.  She even remember what the sermon from the previous Sunday was.  Not only is she growing in character but in faith as well.  I'm so happy and releived to hear she's doing well.  That's all I needed.  We're going to make it through this after all!  PTL!!!!

Collene . . My SR has yours beat . . . she's only 5'1".  LOL  She's shot her dad's AR15 at home, and it is quite funny to see such a petite thing with such a big gun.

Thanks everyone for your support.  Nothing like my WV sisters.  :O)  Here's hoping there's a letter when I get home this evening.  I'll let you know how she's doing.

Thanks and God bless each of you!!

I had a LOT of bad days.  I would look so forward to getting the letters, and then cry because he was so homesick and questioning about his decision. It killed me to not be able to call him and encourage him.  I wrote almost every single day, but it just wasn't the same as being able to talk to him.

BUT, when I got that "I'm a sailor call,"  I could hear in his (very tired) voice all the pride and confidence of a U. S Sailor.  Then when I saw him at PIR, I knew he had made the right decision.  There's no easy way to get through it except to pray a lot and keep your eye on the prize, the day you see your girl looking all proud and and grown up in her uniform. Take tissues to PIR, you will need them.  I'm tearing up right now just remembering.

MounntainMama . . . Yea, I have had a whole lot of questions and several bad days.   She graduates on 12/02.  We've booked the plane tickets and motel, just need to reserve a rental car.  Fortunately, though our hotel offers a shuttle to PIR, so we will use it.

Jacueline Hall . . . You've had an exciting week!  Congrats!  How awesome to that your sons are serving our country so.  You must be busting with pride.  You're not too far from me.  I'm originally from northern Grant County near Blackwater, so we drive by Elkins often when we drive home to visit family. I have not received a real letter or a phone call from my SR yet.  Today makes 3 weeks since she's been there.  Several others in my PIR group received letters today, so I'm hoping we get something tomorrow.  She's in a 900 division, so maybe she's too tired to write . . . I don't know.

It's a pleasure meeting you both!  There doesn't seem to be many WV folks on here.  I don't think there is anyone from WV in my PIR group.

I couldn't have made it through boot camp without Navy for Moms. You will have a lot of questions, a lot a bad days too, but all the moms who have been through it will help you.  What is his PIR date?

Hello ladies.  I'm new to this group and my SR is currently at boot camp.  Today makes three weeks.  I don't think anyone in my PIR group is from WV, and I was glad to find this group.  I'm in central WV and would enjoy hearing from other members of the group.

U.S. Navy Seal, Nicholas Null, 30 of Washington, WV was among those who were killed in the chopper crash in Afghanistan. Please pray for the family of this native son of West Virginia and American Hero.  You can send condolences on Nick Null Memorial Page on Facebook.
