I just wrote my first letter to my boy even though I don't have an address yet.  It made me feel close to him.  I'll probably end up writing everyday. Thanks for being here ladies for us newbies!

All went well. Fortunately he's flown before and was able to be supportive to those that hadn't.  Could have gone to the airport, but decided not to postpone the inevitable anymore.  He was hanging with some of the folks he had met, and didn't want to "cramp his style".  There was only a couple other families there.  He didn't want me to cry, so I did my best.  Received the call last night.  His voice was strained, so I assumed they had already started with "the fun stuff".

Well, we made it up and back safe and sound.  I got to videotape his swearing in so I could show his grandmother who can't stop crying.  We had an emotional week-end and he was feeling nervous and scared, so I really had a heavy heart yesterday.  But today at MEPS he seemed very upbeat and excited.  He got with five other recruits at the hotel last night and they watched a movie together and all admitted to being scared.  Today, he seemed ready to conquer the world.  My other two sons went with me and it was so good to see them joking around and enjoying each other. It made my heart feel light.  God is a good God to allow me to be the mother of my three wonderful sons!

I'm driving from Weston.  The recruiter says the swearing in will be about 10 am so I need to leave very early so I can take my time.  Still I am worried.  Keep me in your prayers.

I'm dropping mine off at the recruiter's tomorrow and they are off to Pittsburgh.  Tuesday, MEPS and off to the Great Lakes.  I'm worried about the weather.  I'm planning on driving up to Pittsburgh early Tuesday so I can watch him swear in and spend every last moment with him that I can.  You can probably see me on the Pittsburgh news Tuesday night. I'll be the crazy woman running down the tarmac after the plane!

Son heads to MEPS tomorrow.  We'll see if the weather keeps them grounded a day or two.  He is then off to GL.....

I selfishly would love to have a snow day tomorrow since this is the last week I have with my son. He goes to Pittsburgh next Monday and flies out on Tuesday. We had a Christmas/going away party today with the family. Time is going to fast.

I'm involved in a play in Clarksburg this week-end and next. Would lunch sometime over the Thanksgiving break be a good time? Like Monday or Tuesday? We could maybe eat at CJ Maggies. Just a suggestion....I'm open.
