OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii

It's actually a Marine base but my son is in the Navy and is stationed along with a lot of others that make up Navy forces. And I would love to hear information from others about the area, or others that have family or friends stationed there.

He will be with VP 9.  He is a AM.  I am excited for him as I grew up in Hawaii and miss it greatly.  I am hoping he makes friends out there.  Continue

Trythe Navyformoms group:  HAWAII too, I posted the link, Heather  It's very active here and 1 or 2 live right on Oahu.  We've had many discussions about housing there.  (my son is at Kaneohe but I don't live on the island, so i can't help much about housing)   This group can be quiet sometimes...so you can check out 'hawaii" too!

ask us questions Lulis!  We'll try to help...some here are "veteran moms" and very familiar with the area!

(my son has been there over a year now, loves it....i visited last september...loved it!)

love the little town, and nearby beaches, easy access to the freeways to Waikiki and Pearl Harbor.  Easy access to the north shore too!
